Everton after Viktor Gyokeres seems a much smarter use of the Gordon money than Gallagher.

Hits the ground running, they stay up, if they go down they have a proven goalscorer at that level.

    Agree. Good move.

 Parity is the name of the game in American sports.

The interesting thing is that these clubs spending so much on established players at the smaller clubs is building those clubs infrastructures more and allowing them to go out into the continent and spend smartly, using their much improved scouting and recruitment setups, and come back even stronger.

Parity is coming about that way now in the Premier League. Going to be less about just buying better players going forward.

This one time I wish Brighton would deviate from their “If a player wants to leave, we won’t stand in his way” philosophy. Caicedo was the Bissouma replacement, and Bissouma only left in the summer ffs.

    Caicedo was already in house.

They will have a line of other players they have already scouted that they can go and bring in, and that's if they don't already have another gem there that we just don't know about yet.

They just knocked Liverpool out of the cup without Caicedo and looked great doing it.

Brighton are winning. They are only agreeing to sell when the bids reach exceptional highs. They are going to end up building up that club exceptionally with all of this money and once they start getting into Europe they'll not need to sell like they do now, as they will start paying higher wages etc.

The only thing cringe worthy is your post.

Football fans being wrong about a player is nothing knew.

Just recently I was wrong, very wrong about Miggy and Joelinton.

I was very happy to admit I was wrong.

The same goes for Anthony Gordon. I'll be delighted to be proved wrong.

Saying fans... "start stuttering and back pedelling" stinks of you being a tad bit pretentious.

Get off your high horse ya' plonker. :bootyshake:

Nah, what's pretentious and incredibly annoying is how people were continuously going on about how he was not god enough, and was a horrible, ugly rat. Like they were so certain of that.

So I will be having my own fun and be equally annoying when folks start being turn coats, you'd better believe it! :p

I suppose this shows the power of good club media/presentations - and, to be fair, Gordon's personality...

...but I've never had this quick of a change of heart on a player. I'm so impressed with his demeanor and the way he handled himself with all the players. Fuck it, I'm all in.

    And it begins ...

I give you credit for flipping quickly.

Going to be far more cringe worthy when he starts performing on the pitch and folks start stuttering and back pedalling.

Financial Fair Play is a joke.

We should just go all out now.

Some of you want to be Chelsea so bad man.

No we should not just go all out now. My goodness. No desire to be run like that tacky club thanks. Goodness sake.

    Shelvey from Newcastle to Forest.

O'Brien from Forest to Sheffield United.

Berge from Sheffield United to Newcastle.

    Job done.

Howe confirmed today if the Shelvey moved hadn't of happened, we wouldn't have done any more business. If none of their preferred targets are available, I wonder how a loan with an obligation for Berge fits into their thinking.

Then thank God he did move!

Typical Everton. Almost inevitable they throw away the money we've given them. Do they even need midfielders, nope!

    They are completely insane.

Could probably have got two really good players with that money, and possibly three if they were a bit clever. My goodness.

I think more people were stating he has a lack of end product on the pitch rather than bemoan his ‘fighting’ attitude.

    Rubbish

What thread were you reading man?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to him getting on the pitch, then we'll see about that lack of end product too.

    Brilliant

While so many on here where losing their shit over the whole thing, Howe recognised what it said about his willingness to fight for his team

  12. This guy looked great for Sheffield United that first season they bought him, but then got slowed by injuries.

Very talented, and could see him doing really well in our coaching setup under Howe. Very intriguing link.

  13. Well, have to say the guy comes across really well in the clips that have been shared, and genuinely looks over the moon to have joined. Also seen from the pics he's gone round and met all the boys.

Good thing his character wasn't judged by a clash with the players on the pitch!

Must be a perception thing and I could see billionaire owners wanting marquee names on the pitch.

Yeah, think there's a bit of that to it maybe, but I think they are also just lazy and don't really trust the longer process.

I really hope we never go down the Chelsea route. I despise it so much.

Hope we establish the model Brighton have, but with us targeting even better younger talents or obscure talents, that cost a bit more than Dan would have been able to spend on them at Brighton. So the likes of Franca and Andrey Santos that we have looked at recently.

Not sure what Gusto is thinking. Has so much potential but he'll always be playing second fiddle to James.

He'll have enough opportunities to play with all the games they are involved in, well if they ever get back into Europe

And Reece James does love an injury, so there's that too.
