  1. I don't think we can compare Anderson to Ekitike really, as Ekitike has performed at a much higher level.

Anderson is being brought in much slower as the height of his experience so far has been at League 2 level.

Proper weird the hatred people have for this kid, like

What exactly have you read on here today that you are describing as hatred?! My goodness man

Lad doesn’t seem to have been well advised, but the move was still understandable.  What is more worrying is the manager criticising his attitude - that’s not great considering where he is and his age.

All reports about him prior was that he had a lot of hunger and desire to improve and was a really hard worker and trained well. It's likely a reason we went for him as well as we apparently do a ton of background checks on players now.

He's clearly been hugely discouraged by his current situation and it's likely affected how he trains.

I've seen games they've been up at least 3 goals and don't even give him 10  - 15 mins at the end. it's genuinely been surprising how little he's played, especially considering how easily they often dispatch other teams in Ligue 1.

French kid born and lived his entire life in France chooses the biggest club in the country. It’s not exactly a preposterous decision.

Yes, I understand what you're saying man. It's all about timing though.

It wasn't the right time for him to make that move, and most people on here could see this all coming.

He had only just made his first big impression at Reims in one season. If he plays it all out correctly, after another few years, he probably ends up at PSG as the main man.

Now, he's upset about not playing, and is going to have to rebuild his confidence and get back going again elsewhere probably.

Man, the guy looks at the Prem table every night before bed and cries himself to sleep. Google it.

We’d all like to think we’d act differently, but if you’re a 20-year old kid and one of the biggest clubs in the world is telling you you *are* good enough and they’re going to pay you *this* much, it’s almost a no brainer.

On the flip side, declining a move to a big club and/or dropping a league often gets you labeled as lacking in ambition.

I don’t begrudge the kid and I’m not gonna piss in his cornflakes. As others have said, he’s gotten poor advice from people who should know better. I hope it works out for him because he does seem like a real talent.

I'm sorry man at 20 years old with the breakout season he had, there was interest from ourselves, Dortmund and I think Bayern.

Dortmund and Bayern play young players and are high profile clubs, if he didn't think we were high profile enough. He's made a terrible call going to PSG man.

You don't go anywhere near PSG and Man City if you aren't being brought in as a main piece. Fast way to screw up your career. Unless you're maybe older and are fine with being a squad player.

He's lucky he's only on loan and hasn't been signed there on a wage that would have made it difficult to move elsewhere.

The guy has Messi - Neymar - Mbappe ahead of him, one of them gets injured they have 3/4 attacking mids to bring on - was a crazy move for him in terms of playing time but you can’t begrudge him for moving to PSG as a young French kid - I’d do the same

    I'll never understand this mindset.

I would never move to a bigger club until I was good enough to be an important piece.

I'm not busting my behind in training everyday to be marginalised and left on the outskirts of the team. I'd rather drop down a level and play every week, and if that's the best I can manage then so be it.

  8. But people on here said there was no downside and he'd not be unhappy, as he'd have the privilege of getting to train with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.

    :yao:

It was a really unfortunate decision he made. And now he's lost all of the momentum and probably confidence he had built up for himself last season. Honestly, I didn't even imagine he would have played this little.

I've watched games where they are pummelling people and they still don't bring him on. PSG are a disgrace to be honest. Why would they sign him and mess him about this way?

He wanted to leave when we were on the way down and now he wants back on now we’re up. Nah.

    Nah man

He wanted to leave because he was desperate to play and was out of the team.

He's been talking about wanting to come back to Newcastle even when Ashley was still here. Guy genuinely loved it at Newcastle.

Villa copying Newcastle again it seems

Some really strange stuff going on between the two clubs. There's a rivalry growing

Would love it if Emery bombs. Found his carrying on after our approach extremely irritating.

You need experience in the side along with youth - I think 28 is fair; Trossard will be in his prime.  It'll all depend on the price.

Yeah, I think we may look at players that age if the deal is right, like it was for Pope, Trippier and Targett.

I think with his contract up in the summer, around £15 million would be about right.
