Bruno for Shelvey seems an obvious like for like change at some point.

Don't think Shelvey has been quite as poor as some have made out. Made a few useful passes forward. Not been amazing or anything, but not the liability he can be at times.

I know people want Bruno to come in and I'm sure he will eventually, but the efforts to make out Shelvey is playing badly are ridiculous.

Shelvey is struggling big time imo. Not sure if he's just ran out of steam or if the armband is getting in his head but he's been back to normal today.

What?! Guy has been making plays defensively and getting on the ball and playing good forward passes.

What on Earth are you even watching?!

All started by some fantastic composure by Burn, playing it back in field to Shelvey as opposed to hoofing it.
Subtle differences a confident, calm CB can bring...

Dan Burn is incredible man. I liked him as a player already, but watching him this closely is even far more impressive. What a signing.

Love him and Schar together. Both starting off our moves from the back so well.

A tackle isn't just about winning the ball or cutting out danger, a good strong well timed tackle can intimidate the opposition or individual, get the fans up off their seats and can galvanise a player who maybe lacking confidence as we saw with Lascelles against Everton.tackling is integral to the game and is very much an important part of it. It’s not just about winning the ball or sending the opposition player into the hoardings. My boy is coached not to dive in, to stand his man up, get tight, don’t ball watch and to jockey his man, but he’s also instructed because you can’t coach tackling, to try and win the ball by way of tackling if that’s what’s required or called on.

I think tackling is sometimes absolutely necessary, as you can sometimes be caught out of position or need to cover for someone else that has been, and you need to go to ground. However, I think there is an art to tackling, and an under control tackle can help you win possession a lot more often, which is really the priority for me. Just not a fan of flying in recklessly. I understand that in the prem it has typically been seen as a way to galvanise the crowd and player, but just never been a fan of that kind of approach.

Would this see a red card in this day and age?

This kind of tackle doesn't even win you possession a lot of the time as the ball just goes anywhere. It's not the greatest play. Think a lot of players do this kind of thing to play to the crowd, which is a bit silly tbh.

The best midfielder at winning the ball back in the prem is still Ngolo Kante and you will never see that guy go to ground that way.
