This is just so typical man, of course they're missing these chances
-
Silva has been just as bad as DeBruyne was.
-
I cannot stand Man City as it is, this game is making things so much worse.
-
What are you on about man?! You cannot be serious? Man, this summer is going to be unbearable on here if this result holds.
-
Rodri is shooting from half way ...
-
It was the reason a number of teams passed on Isak. It isn't the be all and end all, especially when a player is in a poor team, and has shown much better numbers when the team was better. Agree to disagree though. Let's see how things pan out.

Amrabat coming into that midfield in the last week's of the season and tightening things up for them in there has likely got them the FA Cup and Europe now man. Just unbelievable really.
-
This is so impossibly awful. Can't even be upset at Man Utd. They are beating them all ends up, fair and square. Pep has completely screwed us over here with this shit lineup with no wingers, and terrible slow over passing.
-
I hate the way they play so much man. They have so much space out wide and aren't playing anyone that can beat a man in those areas. Just this insufferable slow paced over passing back through the middle every time.
-
Ah, hear we go again. The good old goal scoring record. The answer to everything.
-
So you agree he is abysmal at finishing then yeah? Okay, well if he signs we'll see how it all plays out in our team.
-
Abysmal at finishing, because you saw him missing some big chances? My goodness man.
-
Let's see what happens man. Agree to disagree. Never a fan of basing signings on stats from the previous season though. Gordon's stats were nothing to rave about and people thought we were crazy when we signed Isak for what we did, based of his stats the season before too.
-
I pretty much spoke on each of these points in my first post on this ... But fair enough if folks don't agree. Let's wait and see how it all plays out.
-
I disagree with your premise. His record shows he hasn't been anywhere near as much of a 'sicknote' as people have claimed. And if we do sign him it won't be on wages that can't be accommodated. Guess we'll have to wait and see. If we do sign him though, I see it being a successful move.

Wilson's situation has worsened significantly this season and he is 32 and in the last year of his deal, and so makes no sense persisting with him. DCL is 27 and has not been anywhere near as injury problems as Wilson has been for us of late. There's no comparison.
-
Can we have some names please? Who would be as you say, 'a lot better and more imaginative', as a replacement for Wilson as a rotation striker?
-
When we signed Wilson he was an injury prone striker. Would you say it's been a worthwhile signing or no?
-
Why the assumption that it goes the same way for Philips at Newcastle? In a totally different setup from West Ham and Moyes?
-
Speak for yourself buddy. You just don't get it.
-
People are still so caught up in goal scoring figures without any context. Both Wilson and Isak have far outperformed their numbers before joining us. Such a simplistic way to look at things.
-
This DCL move seems very very opportunistic and cunning. I hated the idea of him as the main guy when we were being linked and it looked like either him or Isak, but this is very different. He'll be joining as a rotation option and sometimes partner to Isak. His stock is at an all time low right now. Been stuck in an awful team, not scoring as much, and last year of his contract. The supposed fee of £25 million is an absolute steal. His physical profile, work rate and character are all great fits. He's still just 27 and gives us much of what we'd lose with Wilson going. The one thing that really sticks out to me with DCL, was that period under Ancelotti when he looked absolutely incredible. Ancelotti raved about him at the time, and it's worth going back and reading some of those quotes. The downside is the injuries, but as already mentioned, it doesn't actually look as bad, looking back over the last few seasons. Also, to get a back up of this kind of experience and ability, you probably will need a bit of compromise somewhere. Having two starting quality strikers, that we won't be running into the ground probably works for both, as even Isak doesn't look like he's suited to that. I think this move only happens if Wilson is sold and we get some money for him. And so DCL would be a direct replacement. Even when we weren't sure Wilson was set to leave, there was talk of a younger, developmental striker coming in, and so could still see that happening also. If we end the summer with Isak, DCL and a young developmental prospect that's a cheaper wonder kid type in the Minteh profile, that would be a great position to be in.

Howe rubbished reports of him being unsettled or expendable after the match today, for what it's worth.
