Yeah, I could see that being an option, but the problem is that is likely to mean Longstaff coming in as the 3rd starter in those instances. And honestly, I'm no longer comfortable with that at all. I want him pushed down further.

The more I think about it, the more I realise the trouble we are in this summer. If we dare go into another season with no viable back up to Bruno we are in serious trouble. However, there are still so many other priorities that I have no idea how we make it happen otherwise it's a cheap freebie type. Maybe you guys have some better ideas but I don't see it ... well, unless we sell Bruno or Isak. I know which route I'd prefer.

You're a funny guy man Anyway, I'll just leave this here for people that are interested in a bit more detail and substance.
-
Bruno and Barkley have been playing similar roles for their teams this season, whichever way you want to call it. I genuinely don't understand how you watch all these games and don't know what you're looking at.
-
Barkley is on a free. We don't have anyone that is close to providing what Bruno does when he isn't available. This whole discussion is centred around funding a cheap backup.
-
It's okay if you didn't know man. No big deal. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/ross-barkley-luton-town-202324-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics

Your lot should have been sewing up top 4 today man. Have some shame.
-
Barkley has played the same role as Bruno this season, as the number 6 at Luton, dictating all their play from deep. It's why he was getting so many plaudits earlier in the season, as he has looked very good in that role. Incredibly press resistant and his passing in those deeper areas was very good.

Every thread is people panicking about players leaving or Man United winning the cup. Pitiful stuff man
-
Great end to the season that. Personally looking forward to the FA cup final next weekend very much.
-
If they win next weekend against Man City then they'll fully deserve to be in it. I won't be putting a single penny on them doing so though. Think they'll get destroyed.
-
Europa League was actually an enjoyable watch this season and would have been great, but don't think we'd have gotten away with rotating our team significantly in it it next season. Conference League allows us to really rotate the team and use the likes of Anderson, Miley, Minteh, Alex Murphy and even Kuol. And we'll of course also be one of the favourites too. Could end up being very fruitful for the overall development of the team.

There's a completely different edge to Palace now. A ruthlessness going forward. They have us help too and tore Man United to shreds.
-
I heard this Bruno guy was overrated.
-
That new Palace manager is looking very good. Maeteta has been completely transformed under him. Amazing the difference a good manager can make.
-
There was talk of him needing to be upgraded in midfield on here. So easy to look past the difference he makes in there. The real issue is upgrading Longstaff, so that he has more quality around him to make up for some of his rougher edges. Brings way too much to our midfield to be taken out of there.

Still hopeful. But Solanke will need to come on soon.
-
Just realised Bournemouth have Solanke on the bench. Hope he comes on and does the business. Still hoping for 6th place.
-
If you've never seen the guy play, you really don't have to comment. My God man. How in the world does Kelly have similar pace to Dan Burn?!
-
As I just explained in my post replying to @Dr.Spaceman Brighton's whole setup is far more advanced than any of these clubs you've mentioned. Can't see it being the same at all.
-
Bloom has a long history in sports data analytics and is at the forefront of that. His whole setup is based on his own unique model that he created. This influences every decision they make regarding staff recruitment and player recruitment, and the model has been bearing top end results for ages now and is well established. Completely different from anything Southampton were ever doing.

115 would have made the most sense.
-
Seen Southampton get compared to Brighton a few times on here, but it was nowhere near the same level or calibre of operation.
-
Ghuirassy another double today.
-
Bayern have gone from 2 nil up to down 4 - 2. They've dropped to third now behind Stuttgart.
