  1. Foden needs to do better than this. Very ordinary. Needs to be far more influential if he's going to play off the striker.

Strong chance you could convince a jury to convict Southgate of crimes against football

Need him to not flop too badly this summer.

We want Man Utd to go forward and appoint him, then he can fall to pieces over there.

  3. John Stones body shape defending him when he got the ball man. Wow.

Is he actually good defensively? Quite different when not in a team that controls the ball all the time.

Wasn’t Thuram getting linked to us and Liverpool for daft money now he’s only worth 20m Euros? I don’t know what his contract situation is mind

    Last year of his contract.

Really surprised Grealish misses out tbh. Would have taken him over Bowen personally.

Bowen had the better season and was playing every game. Can play upfront too.

Grealish really shouldn't be in the squad. Good call by Southgate.

  6. Isak is good vibes man. He seems so chill.

Can totally see him being the sort that likes being away from the limelight of some big city.

Comes across like he just wants to play football and then chill out after.

Liverpool is the last destination I could ever imagine Bruno leaving for. I think that club are about to go get a shock, I think their post-Klopp odyssey might not be as fruitful as they expect.

Yeah, with Klopp gone and such big changes, the pull won't be the same at the minute.

Similarly with Pep now expected to leave in a couple of years, and with all the drama around city with this conflict with the Premier League, and the 115 charges, not sure the pull for City is quite the same either.

Think Bruno stays. Unless someone big from abroad comes in for him.

I think £80m is realistic considering his age but obviously he's worth more than that to us long term. Hopefully if no one coughs up the alledged £100m release clause he'll be staying......

    He's 26 years old

Beth have you ever considered badminton instead?

  9. Matt O'Riley has been exceptional at Celtic.

Still concerned about the creativity we'd miss with Bruno out of the side, and he'd be an excellent solution.

Can similarly play both the 6 and 8 positions and his passing range is great.

I always liked Sessegnon & Perisic obviously.

Sessegnon needs to go back to Fulham. So does Fabio Carvalho.

    Fuck it - Perisic too.

Can't believe how badly things have gone for Sessegnon at Spurs. That's so crazy.

Good shout him going back to Fulham. Plenty young enough to get things back on track.

Adeyemi is not a productive player. Poor passing and assist stats, poor at shot creating actions. Is quick and can carry the ball, can beat a player but on pace, not skill.

I’m sure he has potential in him to improve but not every player realises their potential.
He’s not really lit it up at Dortmund playing against inferior defences.

There’s obviously a whole load of other stats that clubs use when deciding on a player,  but unless the price was too cheap to pass up and our wage offer was low enough the risk factor was highly attenuated, I’d be surprised to see us look at him.

All very fair points, and a big part of the reason he's been made available for what he has.

In my opinion he's still most comfortable playing as a striker, like he did at Salzburg, where he was fantastic. He needs far more consistent minutes playing out wide for him to make that transition.

His data looked better last season, but has regressed this season as his playing time has been more patchy.

At 22 years old and for £25 million, it is very intriguing IMO. But definitely not the finished article.

I guess it will depend on how much we rated him prior to his Dortmund stint. We were credited with a lot of interest when he was leaving Salzburg.

  12. 8 minutes ago, Stifler said:

He’s massively highly rated, got to the Champions League final, and created a lot of Dortmunds chances. He’s not going to be sold for about £25m.

He has not progressed like they thought and has been in and out of the team this season. He is still not the finished product and needs further developing.

The report states they are looking to recoup what they paid for him, which was the 30 million Euros fee, to put towards their bid for Sancho.

This is being reported while you're making stuff up in your head, which is pretty annoying.

Well not get Adeyemi like. If we had him, then our front 3 would literally be unstoppable.

No chance he’ll be available for that much as well, not a chance.

You have no idea what you're talking about, but yet speak with such certainty.

I think Youssoufa Moukoko maybe another sneaky pick from Dortmund, immense stats in youth football and scored 10+ goals as a 17 year old in bundesliga.

He hasn't played a lot this season and is now 3rd or 4th choice at club. So I think fee wouldn't be crazy and he has many features that Howe likes in particular high pressing and high energy.

Another that looks like he'll be available. As you say, has completely fallen off this season, as the manager hasn't given him opportunities to play.

There were some rumours in January that Malen was for sale. Would also be a good shout for a versatile forward and wouldn't be too expensive.

Yes, he was mentioned as being available as well. He actually wants to leave too.

  16. So apparently Dortmund want to bring Sancho back, and so are making some players available.

Adeyemi is apparently being made available for 30 million Euros, so around 25 million pounds.

That's a great price considering his age and potential. Only just turned 22 years old earlier this year.

Can legitimately play across the front three positions, but is still a bit raw and will need some patience and development playing down the right side especially. Under a coach like Howe the results could be incredible.

At that price, surely worth a punt or no?

Very interested to see where he ends up next, if we don't go for him, could see him going to Brighton as Ansu Fati will be returning to Barcelona. Think he'd become immense in their setup too.

I just don’t think he is at the level of Bruno, Isak and Gordon, who are likely ambitious and able to play at a higher level. Would they wish to stick around if our major upgrade this summer is Mbuemo.

A right winger that got 9 goals and 6 assists in 25 league games last season, and 9 goals and 8 assists in 37 league games the season before? I would imagine so, yes!

Funny that you rate Gordon now, but based on your analysis of Mbeumo, I'm sure you didn't rate the signing at the time. And yet, here we are.

  18. 18 minutes ago, Checko said:

I had a look on a Brentford forum to see what they thought and they love him. Think he's very underrated in wider media. He works hard defensively, and apart from his injury this year has basically been indestructable. He's not traditionally been particulary clinical in front of goal - has scord 17 non-penalty goals in the last 3 years and they say he can miss easy chances.

We're not shopping at Man City levels overall no, but most of their squad was bought in the 40-60 million range, our biggest signings each year are in that range. When City wanted a winger last year they got Doku for 55 million. If we're spending 50million + on Mbeumo, we're in that ballpark.

I think he'd be at least a good, pretty low risk upgrade. But for 50 million plus, that's star player money (for us). Would he be one of our real stars? I dunno, haven't seen enough of him to know, but his stats are a bit weird in places - his passing stats are quite poor, miscontrols and gets disposessed a lot etc.

Well Gordon is a star player for us.

If you looked at his Everton numbers I'm sure you'll find they were nowhere near Mbeumo's.

From your description off the Brentford forum, it reads a lot like Sadio Mane. Never the silkiest technically, and thetefore prone to some mishits and missed passes, but the work rate, physicality, pace and relentlessness leads to high production.

  19. 5 minutes ago, Pablo said:

I recall seeing Isak absolutely tear it up in one game at the Euros, with Gary Linekar absolutely gushing. I don’t ever remember seeing Bryan Mbuemo having that impact on any game.

I see Mbuemo as a decent premier league player who will start in a mid to lower level team, not one to make the leap to the top. This isn’t fantasy football picking up a cheap player for 5m to score a few points as substitute when the first choice is missing a game.

like I said originally if we sign him, I support him and want him to do well. I want my gut feeling to be wrong. However if he signs, I think we are collectively crying out for a new right winger inside 6 months as he is levels below the remainder of our first choice front six.

    Gordon Isak Mbuemo

    Joelinton Bruno Tonali

if you all think he is that level, fair play. I see him as a a Ruel Fox.

The exact same thing was being said about Gordon, actually, even worse!

All of our best signings have been based on play style and how that fits into our system, which then maximises the players potential.

Mbeumo has been close to double figures in both goals and assists the last two seasons, in a lesser Brentford side.

Based on how his play style lines up with our system, the upgrade would be massive.

You do realise that everything you’ve just written for Mbeumo, could’ve applied to Isak at Sociadad don’t you? We don’t have the FFP wriggle room to buy top level proven players, we have to buy players with potential to grow. Mbuemo has that and is also proven in the premier league, unlike some similar prospect in the Erdevise or Bundesliga

It could have applied to all of our best signings [emoji38]

I'm so taken back by some of this stuff man.

Some people still keep thinking we are going to be buying players like Man City did after their takeover.

    I can't believe it.

  21. Brentford are asking £50 million for Mbeumo. 24 years old, 18 goals and 15 assists in the Prem the last two seasons. Not too crazy. Can probably bring that down to £40 million with the rest in add ons.

Some interesting quotes of his I stumbled on earlier today. Seems to have the kind of mindset that really fits into what we do.

"I have qualities that I have not yet fully exploited," Mbeumo continued. "In the last action too, I must be even more killer, more decisive. I also know how important it is to work off the pitch.

"I set up programs with a sports coach. I am following a virtual reality program that allows me to improve my cognitive abilities. You have to be ready for the future."

  22. For what it's worth he will start at Chelsea.

Fofana will be injured and he is better than Disasi.

But next summer they will probably buy someone else that takes his place though.
