Where this fails is the number of seasons Arsenal had to give Arteta (and very nearly cut him) versus the likely time Maresca will be given.

While they may claim this one is for the long term, their fans are severely pissed Poch was binned, and if they have a shit season having once again sold all their homegrowns, the atmosphere there will be absolutely toxic and the loop will play again.

    Amen. Looking forward to it.

Kayode? Sounds Nigerian. Awaiting Kaka to tell us he's unreal.

He's similar to Udogie, in that he's Italian born and raised.

Very highly rated from what I've seen written of him but never really seen much of him actually play myself.

He looked decent against us at St James last season.

Very surprised he didn't tear things up in the Championship.

I'm guessing he's been injured or something. Strange.

  4. Oh wow that was Sulemana just then with the trophy!

That Southampton move really derailed what was looking like a promising emergence in France.

Completely forgot he was still with them. Hope he can turn things around.

  5. That Summerville performance was proper dodgy.

Lots of Premier League interest in him in the lead up to the summer.

Much easier transfer for him with them not coming up. Very convenient!

Le Tis probably talking Lallana’s ear off about how the earth is flat and how we don’t need vaccines.

Can't believe people are still harping on about this nonsense.

Yeah free transfers aren't really any cheaper for the club, it's just that the transfer fee goes to the player instead of another club.

The agent fee and signing on fee is nowhere near what you'd typically pay in a transfer fee as well as the signing on fee and agent fee that still gets paid for a regular transfer.

The player and his agent just gets a boost in their signing on fee and agent fee, but it is nowhere close to what would be paid as a transfer fee.

You still save a bunch of money signing a player on a free.

With one of our scouts being Dutch - I am hedging my bets on J Bakayoko

Good shout. We were linked last summer. He's quality.

We seem to like Neto but the injuries are an issue, and so I wonder if we'd look at Trincao at Sporting.

Similar profile to Neto but without the injuries. Has improved a lot since leaving Barca and since his loan at Wolves.

  9. Tonali coming back in and a quality right winger being signed will be so massive for this team.

I personally think we are going to be a force next season.

That right side has been an issue with Longstaff and Almiron just not being reliable enough performance wise.

These are the last key pieces of our first 11, and I think the difference will be very noticeable.

Howe has already laid the foundations and established a great team culture and framework. Sorting those two positions will take us to the next level.

I cannot see us finishing outside the top 4 and certainly not outside the top 6 and there is a strong likelihood we win a cup IMO.

Pep not fucked off yet ?

Should have been sacked after yesterday.

All the Man City cheating off the pitch, all that money spent on all those players and couldn't even beat the Man Utd side the daft Muppet.

Haaland is a poor forward.  Brilliant if put everything on a plate but everything else is shocking.

He is not a great fit for this insufferable over passing style.

Done amazing to score like he has for them, but my God the number of times they fail to play him in earlier or just cross the damn ball.

Really makes you wonder what could be.

  12. If we had performed like this against Man Utd people would be calling for Howe to get the chop.

Man City aren't even missing any players outside of the goalie today man. My God.

Zero urgency from Man City.  Every time they get the ball back they give Man Utd a chance to re-park the bus.

They're so used to faffing about on the ball all the time. Pitiful stuff.
