Longstaff is smooth man. I like this kid.

 

Is he a natural defensive CM?

 

His career thus far suggests he's more attack-minded, but that's at a low level and therefore means little imo. You often find talented players look really offensive in their youth development, but once they break through to senior football, they're much less productive in attack.

 

He looks like a fairly well-balanced CM to me. Confident & composed too which I like.

Interesting. Yeah he seems particularly calm, and always has his head up, and has pinged it about a bit. Very promising first start away from home at a top club.

That was incredibly frustrating. Rondon had done so well to hold up play and bring him in.

My friend, we are not attacking a bit more. This is how we always setup.

It just looks better because Chelsea are pushing forward, whilst not doing a very good job of dealing with our out balls and subsequent counter attacks.

We're so much better away from home like, we should play on the break more at home.

I think we pretty much setup the same way, but because visiting teams don't come at us as aggressively as they do at home, it then doesn't quite work out the same.

Honestly why do the commentators keep saying how dominant Chelsea have been, they really haven't done anything special overall and have been the worse side for almost half of the game.

It's amazing they haven't invested in a clever midfielder considering they have let the likes of Mata and DeBruyne go in recent times.

On top of that they now don't have a striker they like that can get on the end of crosses, ad so they're a bit of a strange team. Don't really look that threatening a lot of the time. Particularly, against teams that are defending deep.

To be fair it's a real threat we have with this system as we have the three big central defenders in the team.
