It's a disgraceful hit
Sliced it off his shin, and wasn't even under pressure. So sickening.
-
Perez ... the guy is so poor man. So so poor.

Newcastle this season are the most boring side I have ever seen in any professional athletic event. It is almost universally a serious chore to watch this rubbish.
It's true. Some sides can be bad, but are still somewhat interesting to watch. Maybe Fulham as an example this season.
We are just so awful and tedious.
I don't have such an issue against chelsea etc with these tactics but christ we play like this against everyone even in games that don't really matter ultimately like the cup. I refuse to believe its impossible to try and actually play football against fucking blackburn
Even when we manage to work a decent move and get into good positions we are so pitiful with our final pass.
I have no confidence in this team being able to produce any kind of football that is remotely palpable, ever.

Play LeJeune upfront.

So poor from Perez.

Ritchie is so lower league.
The whole team is to be fair.

Longstaff is doing ok, could do with a bit more movement from those around him.
Yeah, looks like he's got a bit of composure and sense about him.
What is his natural position? Is it actually centre mid?

Leicester are eight and ahead of the likes of Everton, Bournemouth, Wolves and West Ham?!
Don't understand the constant speculation over that man's job.
Well if Rafa goes there and we are after a manager that knows all of the French players we are insistent on bringing in, then maybe he'll be worth a go.
-
What a ball by David Luiz ... outrageous.
Disgraceful defensive line.
-
Fulham have scored all 3 goals
-
Didn't realise Declan Rice was released by Chelsea.
Such a good young player. Lovely goal today.
West Ham bringing in good players, having fantastic prospects coming through ... must be nice.
-
Batshuayi recalled by Chelsea. Can see him going to Palace
Everton apparently
Oh my goodness. Great signing for them.
Richarlison seems far more comfortable on the left and they've really lacked someone leading the line.
Man ... remember Ben Arfa scoring that stunner against them early on? Pretty sure their striker was Steven Naismith that day.
That version of Steven Naismith probably starts for us today. Incredible.
-
Have bid £17 million but they are standing firm on the £25 million price apparently.
As they have apparently allowed us to agree personal terms the bid likely has some truth to it.
Think it's a fair offer tbh. Maybe another £3 million to £5 million based on certain targets being achieved will do it.

Do you think at any point a manager would ask his players to just play the game out and not really continue to be as aggressive? Or do players just automatically kind of do it themselves when they know they are destroying their opposition and they are demoralised?
I feel like already Man City have taken their foot way off the pedal here.
Even the home crowd are dead silent, as though they even feel bad for Burton Albion.
I’m tempted to put a bet on city match being less than 7 goals now, they must be tempted to ease off
It felt like they had started doing so already after that 4th goal. It is so easy for them.
Silva and Gundogan are just clipping the ball over their 5 defenders and into the path of players making superb runs into the box and they're straight in.

All jokes aside are you allowed to forfeit a match at this level?
This is going to be an outrageous scoreline if Man City keep putting in any kind of basic effort.
-
Tiote and Shelvey midfield.
-
Tammy Abraham has rejected Wolves to stay at Villa
Wow. This seems a bit weird to me. Is he thinking he might get a chance at Chelsea or something?
Wolves seem to be getting in decent players, and have a decent manager.
They would have been looking to pair him with Jimenez who would have been a perfect striker to play alongside.
Strange.
-
Filthy strike from Neves. Class.
-
Nice feet and a clean strike from Origi.
One I thought we should have tried for on loan in the summer.
-
Most basic stuff in the world
Like KaKa said we simply dont have players to play a high line and press. That's actually even more basic.
Not a high line, higher line. More pressing, not gegenpressing. Getting more players forward, not all 11 rushing forward. Its basic as it comes, anyone can do it.
Do you both think we are playing in the absolute best way we can in our home games?
I guess I trust that the manager hasn't changed it at all, because he doesn't trust the players. Fair enough if you feel he should just give it a go anyway.
The only players on our team that I ever see making a concerted effort to close down consistently are Perez and Ritchie. Diame at times also perhaps. Otherwise it's just such a slow, unathletic and plodding team. I'm sick of the lot of them.
-
Yes, well I mentioned that only because I felt it wasn't really a choice that could be justified, but perhaps you are right, and so it should have been flatly declined really.
-
Okay, fair enough. Difference of opinion.
I think we'd get opened up so easily if we tried to press in any fashion.
We'd have to use a very different set of players if we were to press. Shelvey and Ki wouldn't feature in such a team IMO. This would then severely hamper our play going forward.
I just think the team is a mess.

This is so sad, because I feel Chelsea can be had.
They don't really have a striker with presence that they can find with a cross, and so they have to really open teams up. However, they don't really have a clever midfielder that can really do that.
