  1. He may very well not be good with players with big reputations, and to be fair Arsenal don't have many of those.

Apparently Arteta didn't want to be just a coach without full and final decision on transfers. Emery is willing to go ahead with that.

We'll see he may very well revert to his Valencia and Sevilla days. Should be interesting.

  2. Oh boy ... this seems like a really bad appointment man

This guy is more of a Mourinho type. Pretty dull football, and a pretty sour dude.

Guess it's a win for Arsenal Fan TV though, there'll will be plenty reason to complain next season I imagine.

  3. I quite like Benteke and he has actually been doing a lot of what Rafa wants in a striker for Palace last season in lots of ways. The goals have dried up though and he’s a bit of a donkey at times. He’d be a huge upgrade on Gayle and Joselu, mind anyone would be an upgrade on the latter.

Thank you for actually making an effort to answer, unlike a certain mole enthusiast  :D

I tend to agree with you, which is why I brought up the question. He has a lot of very useful attributes that I imagine Rafa would like, and so I do wonder if with Rafa's excellent instruction and preparation he could get back to scoring goals as he did quite well in the premier league previously.

Having been very highly rated previously, he has now lost his way a bit, and so I did wonder if it's a situation worth taking advantage of, as there won't be a ton of interest and his value would be a lot lower than before.

Think we have the right manager to really get him back on track.

  4. Hodgson was raving about Mitrovic's performance against Derby and compared him to Alan Shearer as a target man.

Consider a hypothetical Mitrovic for Benteke swap deal. Would Benteke's attributes suit a Rafa striker and could he get him firing again with his penchant for improving players and really putting them in position to excel? Please discuss.

  5. Jones would've been better off giving De Gea the chance to save the 1 on 1

It just never ceases to amaze me how defenders never just stay as close as possible once they have been beaten, and allow the keeper a chance to do his job.

Especially one as outstanding as DeGea.

  6. I'm sure we can get in £30m in player sales. If Rafa gets that plus £60M to spend, plus agreement on training ground issue - he would take that.

Keeping Rafa on board sorts out this club.

I don't even think Rafa is as concerned about having a big transfer budget.

He just wants to know what he has at his disposal and then be allowed to spend it how he sees fit, with deals being done in a timely manner, without having to run after Ashley to go through every detail with a fine toothed comb.

Rafa has shown this season that even with the most basic budget he can perform wonders and take advantage of loans very effectively.

It's so simple man, but Ashley is just something else.

  7. Has Rafa ever left a job of his own accord?

Rafa has a lot of integrity man. It's a major reason he is so loved and respected by fans.

I think if he departs it won't be this way. Think he will fight to do the best he can in the interest of the club in these negotiations he is currently having. He has a great connection with the fans and his current group of players. i just can't see him leaving that so suddenly.

If he ultimately leaves it will be at the end of next season having not managed to agree on a new contract for whatever reason.

  8. Don't think Rafa will leave. The only way I can see it happen is if he is sacked, if a club offers a big compensation and Ashley says he should talk to them, or if his contract comes to an end.

I genuinely think he is going to go to bat for us and try his best to move the club forward because he actually cares, and it's more than just a management job to him. Rafa is a fighter and in a way I think he is motivated by the challenge of trying to get Ashley to but into what he is trying to achieve.

  9. His Watford team started faltering after he wasn't allowed to speak to Everton when they went in for him post Koeman. Apparently Silva really wanted to speak to them, and so don't think his heart was in the Watford job afterwards.

Think he's a really good manager. He'll do really well at Everton I think.
