I’ve been watching a bit of Abraham when he’s played for Swansea lately as we were heavily linked in the summer of last year and maybe interested again and I like a lot of his attributes. Against outhampton, even though he’s only on loan there, he was constantly trying to force something. He’s similar to Wellbeck in ways and someone I doubt would ever get 20 goals, but he runs, he works those channels, he can play with his back to goal and he fits Rafa’s criteria of being young and someone who he can develop. I wouldn’t mind us offering Chelsea 40m for him and Kennedy, I think they would work out as good value for money in time under Rafa’s tutelage and at that combined price maybe it’s something that would tempt Chelsea who look like they will be or have to spend some serious money in the summer to get back into the mix if you like.

Really hope the interest in him is renewed. He's such a big talent. Just made a bone head decision in opting for Swansea ahead of us. But it could really work to our advantage this summer. Hopefully there will be less premier league interest in him, and maybe he will be available for a permanent move at a fee that isn't crazy.

Easy to forget this guy is still just 24 years old. He is coming along very very nicely!

Yeah, the only hesitation with Welbeck for me is the injuries.

Other than that I agree with those who say he is an ideal fit for what rafa wants from his striker.

If he could stay healthy and knew he was a first teamer every week, he would definitely flourish. He snatches at so many things when playing for Arsenal as he seems too eager to make an impact at times, due to the uncertainty of remaining in the team.

May as well keep Wenger?!

Yeah, there's that as well. The fact pep was so eager to get him in as part of his staff was always interesting to me. So he must have something about him, and yes, you would imagine he has picked up a lot form both Pep and Arsene.

I just think it's interesting to see a young assistant being given a chance, and I just like the guy as a neutral so it would be interesting to observe it all play out.

Can't believe Wilshere hasn't been picked. That's pretty crazy. He's one of the midfielders that has real quality.

If both he and Shelvey aren't included man ... wow

Livermore is so ordinary, has a history of drug use and nicking taxis and has just been relegated. Loftus-Cheek is better as an attacking midfielder and can be really carelesss in central midfield.

Southgate looking like he is going to bottle this world cup very badly.

For what it's worth I think it's a really interesting appointment. Really liked him as a player and just seemed a good sort, so would hope he did well.

Oh man ... one of my friends who is an Arsenal fan was raging at the idea of Arteta when the initial rumour surfaced a few weeks back.

He was rattling off names like Ancelotti, Allegri and Simeone as the type of managers they absolutely had to go for. Oh dear 

Imagine asking any footballer you had just signed what position they played man?

Wouldn't you at least do some research for yourself and speak to the scouting guys to have an idea once you heard they might be coming in?

Also came in from Chelsea's reserve team halfway through the season and was thrown straight in, and was able to perform so well.

Just imagine him being with us from the pre-season and having proper preparation. The kid could be sensational.

Exactly, it's sporadic and all over the place man. Even when he has done well, he hasn't necessarily stayed int he team. The guy should run for the hills before it's too late.

We absolutely have to go for Tammy again. I agree that we have to take advantage of the fact his spell at Swansea has maybe even decreased his value a bit, as it was more down to them being a mess.

Think we could get away with a loan with an agreed deal in place at the end, and should be all over that. Rafa really went out of his way to get him, and so clearly rates him and sees him working well in his system. The kid is very talented and is a fantastic athlete. I'm sure Rafa would be the making of him.

Teddy Sheringham on Marcus Rashford ...

I said at the start of the season about Marcus Rashford that he needs to play games.

 

He needs to learn what he can get away with on a football pitch, what he can do, what he can’t do. You don’t learn that by watching other people play.

 

I don’t care how good the players are, it’s all about experience, it’s about making mistakes along the way and coming up against these players week in, week out and knowing how to prepare to play next season and the season after that.

 

But if you don’t get the experience, you don’t get the chance. All you do is sit and watch and you make mistakes later in life. ‘He needs to learn now, he’s an unbelievable talent for me, and he needs to be playing in a first-team somewhere.

Couldn't agree more. Martial has been completely mismanaged the same way. Those two better jump ship asap this summer. I think they are both major talents that are slowly having their spirits broken by that clown Mourinho.

It's going to be yet another example of young players he didn't give the time to grow on the pitch. Don't understand how a team that has had such a rich history of bringing through young players lets Mourinho anywhere near their club.
