Ironically he did f*** all when he become a LW. It was when Martins was taken off and our wonderous manager ridiculously decided to play for a draw, actually. Owen was a positive move. Martins was poor. We didn't lose because of that move. Hear hear. How anyone can blame SA today is beyond me. I think he deserves as much credit as the players for the way they were set up and played today. I think he is absolutely right too about N'Zogbia - he has much more room to attack sides when breaking into space from left back. Oh, and Given was excellent today. As he usually is.

Well apart from the Dion Dublin one Which must be 6 or 7 years ago.

Good to see some more reasonable assessments. I agree that Given was POSSIBLY at fault for yesterday's goal but having watched Match of the Day, I would not swap him for ANY other keeper in the Premiership. I can't think of any other keeper who makes as few REAL mistakes as Given.

That's odd. Your stats show you've made 100 posts - hopefully that can be fixed soon All fixed thanks to a kind admin. Feel under pressure to post now!!!

Sorry to hijack this post but years and years of loyalty to this Board carries no automatic entitlement of starting a thread, so does anyone know if Shearer's still shows away games and specifically the Wigan game tomorrow? Many thanks

That's why Barton was entirely right in his assesment of what a destructive influence we can be as NUFC fans, although fair play for such a lengthy post.

They're probably all just pissed off we didn't lose. you can say that when you've been to 300+ nufc games, stupid comment Using your criteria and having been to well over 300 games, i'll say it again then using different words: in my opinion, and that's all it is, the negativity of too many of our supporters is one of the key reasons we have played so badly. The negativity, which is also all over this forum, at matches scares the players shitless. Barton and Mort were both right and brave to piont this out. there's blatant negativity for the sake of negativity and there's seeing things for how they really are and not getting carried away with the result Agreed.

1539: "That was one of the worst penalty decisions I have seen all season." BBCi Score's Mark Bright I definitely give up. It was a CLEAR trip - please believe me!
-
it was a CLEAR TRIP. It wasn't a clear trip though, you could argue that martins got his own foot caught on his knee. I give up! Make your own minds up tonight.

it was a CLEAR TRIP.

Clear cut. Good decision. Not for me. Martins had lost control of the ball anyway.. Completely irrelevant that he had possibly lost possession. He was clearly tripped.

Clear cut. Good decision.

.....how? Assist plus a brilliant goal line clearance. Do you have a brain? Haha how stupid. It will be down to the TEAM more than Geremi. You could count interceptions and saves from Given as important to the result as Geremi's contribution. no, because then he will have to praise given, which won't happen. Read my sig - credit goes where it is deserved, and criticism goes where it is deserved, and it would seem that Given gets more of the former, though it doesn't make it immune from the latter. It does, or should, make him immune from criticism which is groundless and irrational.

James would you please f*** off. I'm just stating facts. Given made two bad mistakes when we were passing the ball around that could have cost us. You're clearly not at the game, not watching or have some sort of prejudice against Given. He hasn't put a foot wrong today. So he didn't kick the ball straight in to Roque Santa Cruz And he didn't give Bentley the opportunity to shoot from 50 yards. Hitting Santa Cruz was a fluke that you can't blame him for. He dealt with the run-up to the Bentley incident faultlessly, passed to Roz, who then made a needless mistake. It's no wonder that the players think that the fans are irrationally critical if that is how Given is going to be judged.

I would find it very, very, very hard to agree with that analysis of Taylor's performance yesterday, much as I would like to.

Best performance of the season by a zillion miles. Why cant we show that commitment every week.......?
