support the team, but as much Ashley abuse as possible would be nice
-
Because that seems to work so well
-
every one of the 35,000+ should try to abuse and embarrass this shit out of the cunt
-
Nah, Shearer rarely did the donkey work as far back as 2002. Shearer 04-06 would probably be more accurate. The problems when coaching Carroll to be a Shearer type players would be a poor first touch and no eye for clinical positioning. He'll do a job this season but I'm not expecting a huge amount from him.
-
Nah, we should just sell him and buy a better player for the same or less money. It's easy, all the clubs do it that's all their squads are getting better and better every season how many better defenders will sign for us?
-
They wouldn't get him, but they'd be pleased they were in the running for him.
-
We badly need to keep the two Argentines, as frustrating as they are
-
Obviously you didn't see the game so you can't know that any of it was Kadar's fault. I've seen him twice, and he looks out of sorts against poor players. Not enough to make any firm judgement, but enough to suggest he isn't quite good enough for the starting Xl

Spurs did, 7 months back
-
can't wait for Nicky Butt to come back into the team to partner Smith, honestly
-
comparing him to Shola is an injustice to any footballer, sunday league or higher
-
to be honest, I wouldn't really acknowledge the selection for Argentina as meaning much. The cheating midget wanker doesn't even pick Higuain
-
For all those wanting the likes of Kadar in the first team, take note
-
Wasn't quite the only mention tbh. But where did I imply otherwise?

Shearer lauded Enrique with praise at the end of last season, even said he was one of the few players 'we can't afford to lose' iirc. The bottom line speaks loudest, Shearer isn't our manager, fair enough. But there's a good chance he'll be our manager in the near future and Enrique surely would have been looking for Shearer to jump to his defence.
-
There are a minority of players in our squad that get unfairly targeted by the media, they could do with someone who knows better sticking up for them. Shearer was in a perfect position to do that on saturday, but didn't.
-
He was completely mute when Enrique recieved his typical 'unsuited spaniard' criticism. Nowt to do with reading his mind
-
If he's nothing more than a pundit then why are we discussing him as a potential manager? I meant right now, I wasn't discussing his abilities. He's got absolutely no connection to the club and certainly won't have until Ashley f***s off, which is looking increasingly unlikely. Therefore he might as well speak his mind - that's what he's being paid for. he didn't speak his mind though. He just sat there and let a lazy pundit make ignorant observations.

Lee Dixon and Lawrenson laid into Coloccini. He's an easy target and they are a couple of pathetic, spineless cunts. What pissed me off is that Shearer didn't even bother to defend Enrique (or Colo) when they were both unfairly criticised in the studio.
-
Wasn't it Shola who lost his man, not Harper or Coloccini's fault really
-
Not much I know, but there was an occassion around the 65 minute mark on Saturday where Coloccini dealt with a dangerous looking ball by controlling it somewhat and just hoofing it up field. In the first half there was a few occassions where players outpaced him and he used his outstreched leg or elbow to hack them down. If he is to do a good job in the Championship (and he can) then we need to see that cynical side of him more consistently. Like it or not he's one of our two best central defenders by a country mile. Like Barton, he needs support and he'll eventually come good.
-
it's a fair call, but it generally assumes that any footballer with a bit of presence can play in defence. Defending is an art in itself, you need to be the most intelligent player on the park to play centre-half (effectively), which is one of the reasons so many of them end up captaining. Pace is also becoming an absolute must for central defenders in the modern game, Carroll has none.

A football manager HAS to be arrogant. Even Bobby had a healthy amount of it, his book is so self-appreciatvie it almost reads like it was written by a 3rd party at times. If a manager isn't 100% covinced that he's the best man for the job, how can he expect the players to be. Dealing with such massive, massive egos requires arrogance. Roeder isn't a naturally arrogant bloke but at times purposely appeared to be so and always just ended up looking daft.
-
If Roder was good looking and suave he'd come accross as the most arrogant man on the planet, but his somewhat humble apperance cancelled out his pompous attitude. All by and large not a bad bloke, certainly not an muscle-flexing arsehole like Souness
