Strong recruitment by MBS in any case Imo, the main issue with PIF is that it is by definition state owned. It is funded and regulated by the country. So there will always be a direct link between PIF and the government even if MBS was not explicitly nominated as a Chairman. I’d be very surprised if the chairman of PIF was a Shia - that’s like asking Yasir Arafat to be the Israeli prime minister - he’ll either be Sunni or Wahabi (likely to be Wahabi) - it’s the Iranians that are by in large Shia’s and Saudis Wahabi’s

Yeah that was a great read. Particularly interesting re their potential idea to mimic the City Football Group model, with them supposedly already having looked into Botafogo. He was brilliant in these years for club and country - his first 2 years at Madrid were decent too but he suffered as a result of Madrid’s galactico policy - went from being a fantastic dribbler to just making simple 5 yard passes to Figo, Zidane et al If I remember correctly he was on the verge of signing for Barca until Sir Bobby recommended them Rivaldo instead??

Max Aarons is a YES from me - he looks exactly like the RB we’ve needed - has everything a modern day full back requires

Was reading an article on the Bundesliga, one of the major reasons why they need to complete the season is in order to get the final payment from the TV rights - if they don’t get this, then a number of German clubs will go insolvent Don’t know where the PL is up to with payments? Think they have their final instalment? The PL I believe have to pay TV mopney back to the sponsors , hence the panic over where we are with when and it should be finnished So kind of similar to Germany then - this is going to be a nightmare for the respective boards
