We NEED a CM that can run about and actually dictate a game, if we don't get anyone in then hopefully Barton can fulfil that role when he's back.
-
Would love for Simpson and Routledge to get the sort of understanding Jonas and Enrique have. It's been said that Simpson would benifit from a proper winger in front of him rather than Guthrie, hopefully that'll turn out to be the case.

Do you think we will finish in the top 2? Yes or No

Yep, think we'll win it tbh. Routledge and Williamson both sounded solid tonight, if the injuries aren't to serious to those that picked them up then I see no reason we can't push on from here and get back to the form we had at the start of the season. -
Fucking hell injuries, typical. Pleased with Routledge and Williamson. Routledge needs to be played in his natural position though tbh, at one point wasn't he playing Nolan's?
-
Why the fuck isn't Routledge playing on the RW?
-
Fuck it let's just break their keepers legs and be done with it.
-
Hughton should be instructing our lot to take them on at every opportunity. Try and draw some mistakes. Shame Hughton didn't start Routledge considering Palace's state atm. Just imagine how much he'll destroy them when they're tired.

Ambrose sounds like he just pwned us. Sign him.
-
Carroll and Lovenkrands upfront = Rapage.
-
How good is he then? Can't say I've ever seen him play.

f*** that. It's their job to back their chosen manager and they're doing it 12 months too late. They're getting no pat on the back from me. beter they do it now than never though, it does not make up for the mess they've put the club in, but they seem to be moving in the right direction. They're still going to need to do a lot to be regarded with anything other than contempt in my eyes. Signing two decent Championship standard players, one on emergency loan and the other for a sum of around £1 million, is all well and good but it's not exactly groundbreaking. If they want to really get back in the fans good books they could start by putting in a serious bid for Moses (player or prophet, either would do). Show that they've got some ambition and they want to right the wrongs. I doubt it though. How do you know we haven't? Didn't hear about the Routledge deal until it was done. True, but this is Fat Ash and Disco Dekka we're talking about. It's always safe to err on the side of caution and blind anger with these two. Wish I could argue with that.

No excuse for us not to win now tbh, with them having players banned from playing. -
Got to agree so far. Strange. Strange, but not at all unwelcome. Delighted with what we've done in the market so far tbh, if we can hold onto everyone (bar Geremi and Butt who can leave for free for all I care) then it'll be our first successful window in a long, long time.

At this rate we'll have gone from having not enough to too many wingers. Might as well stock up. Tbf if we can afford it I'd much rather we had a squad too big than a squad far too small like we've had the last few seasons.

I'm just glad Hughton (or whoever) seems to be going for players who can actually run. If we can get a CM who can do the same I think we'll be pretty much set for the rest of the season.
-
and you see fit to tell him what to do with his money ? Now you're just arguing for the sake of it. Of course it's his money, he decides what to do with it, I'm saying that in my opinion he made the wrong choice.
-
Well I disagree. We have an owner worth £800 million, another £5m would not have hurt us any more than relegation did financially.
-
I think had we got a half decent replacement for Zog, we'd have gotten the 1 goal we needed to stay up. And no, I have no proof of this, just as you have no proof that we'd have signed another Nolan and gotten nowhere with it. Do you think it would have financially wrecked us?
-
even if he thought the alternative was for us to do a pompey ? But it wouldn't. Read in another thread a few days ago that he's still worth £800m, assuming that's accurate, £5m out of his pocket to protect his investment and keep us up would never have turned us into Portsmouth. it's 5mill on top of whatever he put in to start with and where did the nolan and taylor money come from, so in effect you are saying 10mill plus whatever he put in to keep us a float ? You aren't taking the Given or N'Zogbia money into consideration. Plus Taylor was free as a part of that deal. so if we bring in transfer money it has to be used on transfers, not paying other debts ? No of course not, but do you think that another £5m on transfers that would likely have kept us up, would have wrecked our financial situation with our £800m valued owner?

Yeah had it come off it would have put us in a great position. Sadly it didn't. Should never have gambled like that imo, wouldn't have made us the next Pompey had he spent say £5m to keep us up and then build from there, still in a great financial position.
