  1. Would you be happy with, say, Jonathan Douglas (Leeds captain under Wise) as manager first team coach? I don't have a clue what the hell you are on about with this comment? It's like half of the people on here have lost their senses in the last couple of weeks! What does Jonathan Douglas have to do with my post? Well, it's just that someone like Jonathan Douglas currently has as much of an adequate CV (captain of a Championship/League 1 side for a couple of years) to be a the head coach of a Premiership side as Dennis Wise (manager of a Championship/League 1 side for a couple of years) has to be the Director of Football of a Premiership side. You're happy with Dennis Wise, a man with no experience of even managing at a Premiership club to be given a role much more critical to the success of the team than the coach, so would you be happy with a coach who had a similar level of experience of coaching? FAIL!
  2. He thinks (no, he 'knows') that we are irrelevant to him, so he has (and always will) treat us like an irrelevancy . . ie, like sh*t. were you saying he treat us like shit before KK left?
  3. If we're doing well things may be more quickly forgotten, but don't forget that any new manager will be working under the restraints that Keegan had to endure. i.e having some of his buys/sales chosen for him, wether he agrees with them or not. Effectively, the manager will pick the team from a squad that has been chosen for him. No matter wether Keegan or anyone else was manager, surely that's an unacceptable situation. nah, i think the new manager will be more than aware of the situation. As its been publicly debated, this is the way more and more teams are going. If a Poyet, a Zico or even worse a Wise becomes manager, they will be aware of the structure and will have to be happy with it to take the job.
  4. I care absolutely about the diection of the club - we were going in the wrong one and now things are looking a lot better, the Keegan incident apart so, tell me about the things that are looking better... finances, first team squad, scouting system to name three. In contrast to: Nearly no spending, a small squad and as many injuries as ever. I think we improved on the field, but think that was down to KK. Concerning transfers, we'll still have to wait and see to judge Nacho and Xisco... debts cleared, club in a much better position. small squad, but a lot of quality - best squad since SBR. Yes we havent seen Xisco and Nacho, but do you have any issues with any of the others?

  6. why am i a sheep for wanting to go to the match? If i dont agree with a boycott, how does that make me a sheep? what if i think the reaction to wanting Ashley and co out are over the top? does that still make me a sheep?
  7. so the search goes on for answers...
  8. erm........ the club has to be successful to be profitable, no? and, how does this make newcastle different to any other club? Im sure the owners of the top 4 are doing it for the love of the region and the fans? Great point tbf. Apart from Roman and the new City guy, which other owners buy a club with the thoughts - "lets go blow millions on players and just have a good laugh". None. All owners are in it to make a profit. Ashleys idea is to do that by trying to unearth young talent for cheap - rightly or wrongly. No doubt the bloke has been tight. But ill state what i said earlier, despite being tight, our squad is still looking the best is has since the SBR era, and that has been without speding much. So i dont think saying he is in it to make a profit is a good enough reason for all this uproar.
  9. Which of our signings are top notch? Guthrie? Bassong? Xisco? Nacho? The former two clearly aren't, nor were they cheaper than one would expect, and you haven't seen the other two. Then there's Coloccini. He's good, but he didn't come cheap. Not at all. Jonas did come cheap, and has certain strengths, but for how long will people love him when they notice he's less creative than James Milner? He's scored exactly as many goals in his whole career as Milner did in his time here, and in twice as many games. His assist ratio isn't any better. But he runs more and faster. Basically, we have replaced Milner with an older but faster and even harder working version. So much for our youth policy. not a bad post. Jonas looks good to me but as you say, he's not got the best track record in terms of creativity. it's too early to judge him and the others. to get back to the original post, i remember people at the time being far happier with Owen and Luque (and Solano) than they are now with Xisco and Gonzalez. didnt KK say Mallorca's top scorer scored most of his goals due to Jonas?! Have i been lied too?!
  10. so am i right in thinking that your angry and want them out because they havent communicated with you as well as you think they should have? Is that a good enough reason to want them out? Im simply playing devils advocate here btw
  11. one good thing about this, its gonna be a lot easier getting a pint at half time on Saturday!
  12. ah, back to talking about football. Think the atmosphere is going to be unreal, if we get an early goal, its going to be amazing on saturday. Think we'll win 2-0. Realy like to see Gonzolez(sp) given a start, just to see what he's all about. Although think it will be Guthrie Butt in the middle. Cant wait for this.
  13. Ashley paid off, what £150 mil of debt? I thin kthats a pretty serious situation for starters. & Ok, we havent spent a lot, goes without saying, but we still manage to have, what looks like, the best squad we have had a few years now qouldnt you agree?
  14. There is no difference. Well done the board on being as thick as Freddy Shepherd. What use is that if it means nothing gets spent on the team while they recoup the money, that's IF they have payed off the debts and not just transfered it to one of Ashleys holding companys. so you would rather be in a financial wreck of a situation then? If a choice of the two?
  15. thats what im starting to think. It soley a KK thing. Not saying thats a bad thing, the bloke is a hero and was treat in a bad way. But if it had of been any other manager, there wouldnt have been such a reaction.
  16. p.s im not trying to start a oldboard v new board argument, im trying to figure out why the sheer hatred towards the mistakes this board has made compared to what mistakes previous owners have made. Honestly...
  17. between a board that buys Xisco and Gonzolez against a managers wishes and a board that buys Luque and Owen against the managers wishes and a board that takes our club to the financial brink and a board that pays off all the debts. Is it soley becuase KK was the manager this time? Im just realy trying to understand the hatred towards Ashley and co. Im as pissed off as anyone with whats gone on, but im not getting the sheer anger aimed at the bloke compared to some of the positives he has brought too. Or are we in a position now where we just want a Zillionaire in charge to come and buy any superstart who would think about coming?! Genius question, i just cant get my head round whats going on at the minute!
  18. you want him to make you puke?
  19. Jesus wept. If this was a friendly then I could see where you're coming from. It's not. It's a league match, our players have done nothing wrong and need our support now more than ever. Stop being so selfish!! What happens if we fill the ground and still lose? We have then lost the moral high ground and it will be seen as too little too late to boycott the next home game. Try and get some principles for gods sake. KK had principles and stood by them which is why he is out of a job on our behalf!! What happens if we don't get behind the team, they lose, and we get relegated or miss out on Europe when one win would have seen us safe and secure. I might be exaggerating but it could happen. There are so many other things going on to show Ashley et al how unhappy we are - why take it out on the players too? Look, Ashley can afford to buy 52,000 fans a pint at about £3 a pint so he won't even notice if nobody buys a pie and/or a pint on saturday so what will that prove? He will probably return the unsold pies to the pie supplier on a no sale no fee basis and it will be the supplier that is affected rather than Ashley. Any beer not sold will be sold and quaffed in the following weeks. Regardless of what anyone says about going to the game and getting behind the players, the truth is that those that go are being selfish in the extreme because they are simply addicted to going to the match and probably don't buy pies or have a drink anyway, so don't try to justify your actions as being in the interests of the club. thats the most Ridiculous thing ive ever heard. Who are you or anyone else to tell me that im selfish for going to support the team i love?! Who give you or anyone else the right to make the decision that a boycott is the right way to go about protesting?! If i want to go to the match to watch and support the lads thats exactly what ill do, and ill not have anyone else try to bullshit me by saying im being selfish!
  20. hopefully for 90 minutes there shouldnt be anything to argue about. People have the right to sing anti Ashley songs etc just as people have the right not to sign. Personally i think it will be rocking at SJP on Saturday.
  21. i cant see any benefits to a boycott. However i do see benefits of 50k Geordies, emotionally high, going absolutely mental. ... 3 points being the benefit btw
  22. Bollocks to the match, the reaction if they rolled out Wise would be f***ing priceless. i almost want them to appoint him just to see the reaction!
