  1. A statement saying that discussions are concluded, were productive, various issues were raised and we're now ready to move forward. The club says it supports Keegan, and KK himself states that he is pleased he had these discussions and he is now ready to move forward with Newcastle's exciting future under Mike Ashley. Not that it will stop the press going on as usual, but that's what I would like to hear.
  2. Could you point out what's wrong with it thanks. You mean sentence by sentence? I disagree with almost all of it, and the way McNulty states things as facts that he knows are based on speculation is ridiculous. A few examples then, if you insist: "One thing we do know with absolute certainty is that Newcastle is once again a club in chaos, with fractured relationships at the top of the club and a management structure that is fatally flawed." "The BBC and almost every other outlet received information from the most reliable and informed sources that Keegan had left his position. This would not have been reported had there been the slightest doubt." "He may mix with Newcastle's fans during matches, but has no grasp on how they feel about their club - and in particular how they feel about Keegan. " "He cannot sit among those supporters again with his credibility so badly damaged." "If these discussions are actually focusing on football matters, Keegan will presumably be asking for complete control over transfers, a privilege that has been denied to him so far." "If Ashley agrees to that, it will effectively mean the demise of executive director Dennis Wise, who is very much the owner's man despite being an unpopular figure among the Newcastle support. And it should also mean curtains for vice-president (player recruitment) Tony Jimenez and technical co-ordinator Jeff Vetere." "It is difficult to see how Keegan's career at Newcastle can be salvaged without those huge compromises, and even the eventual departure of Wise, Ashley - or both." "Newcastle are left as a laughing stock once more. And no-one on Tyneside is blaming Keegan." Nearly all baseless speculation dressed up as being 'in the know'. I would be embarrassed to publish that.
  3. For fuck's sake, do they actually know anything? http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2008/09/newcastle_left_in_chaos.html
  4. I think he'll be off from Portsmouth this season now that the money looks like it's dried up. If KK goes, I'll have a punt on him to come here. Not that I like the saggy faced, bong eyed, jellied eel eating prick mind. Did the money dry up, or did he just overspend?
  5. I see what he might be pissed off with about the sales of McCartney and Ferdinand, but to be honest some of his signings have been awful. It's like he specialises in slightly past it injury prone players. Although thinking about it, maybe they weren't his signings after all, that explains everything!
  6. I see what he means though, Lerner also seems a solid, sensible owner, he's just decided on a different system to Ashley.
  7. You're right we're lucky to have a sensible owner with a sustainable plan. But it's not like there wasn't managerial chaos when most clubs were PLCs, it was just as bad then.
  8. Not sure what I want more, the press to be wrong or curbs to be gone.
  9. Sky have a snippet, but then again they had one of those about KK resigning yesterday, so I might pop a hundred quid on curbs to stay!
  10. Fuck, I didn't do it because I thought it would take too long to pay out! Bollocks!
  11. More people need to accept this. Ashley has done nothing but good things for this club so far.
  12. We need a new chairman tbh. Everyone from Keegan to Wise via Ashley and Jimenez has a place at the club. We've brought in some good young players (well potentially with the likes of Soderberg, Ranger etc) and the summer buys all look promising and were what we have all been crying out for. We've even managed to get decent money for the likes of Emre and Milner to keep the books looking healthy (which despite what some people say is important). What the fudge Llambshagger does is beyond me. He is the weak link Yeah I tend to agree, I don't know what Silence of the Llambs has been up to, but if he was the casualty of this it would be the lesser of three or four evils.

    Boycoutt?

I hope so. Seeing as no-one on this forum knows exactly what has been said over the past few days, none of us are in a position to assume that Ashley is in the right or wrong. He is innocent rather than guilty in my opinion, until proven otherwise (by that I mean *official* sources, not some joker from the kitchens at Shearer's) and I am grateful for the fact that he has made NUFC one of the more financial stable Premiership clubs in the current foreign investment-tastic marketplace. I hope so as well, as far as I'm concerned he's welcome back to sit with us as soon as possible. I could understand if he decided to leave it a while to let things cool down a bit, but I hope he comes back soon.
  14. We don't need a new manager or a new owner. The best result possible out of this would be both remaining in place, and I still think that is the most likely outcome.
  15. Woop, this makes the last 48 hours worthwhile!

    Dennis Wise

No idea mate, if anything this should have shown us how little stock to put in what the media says. The Daily Mail, SSN and the like are beneath contempt as far as I'm concerned. The factual content of most of what they report is tiny.

    Dennis Wise

Pretty much spot on. Obviously Wise is a Londoner and was an odious little scrote when he was a player. But what he's done since then has generally been good, and I don't see any reason why so many people are against him. I don't see much evidence that this episode has much to do with Wise at all.
  18. It should have been like that in the 1st place, there is no real reason why it didn't happen in the summer bar the board being tight. True, but 'tight' for the right reasons - getting the club in a stable footing and spending within our means. Ashley will be a good chairman, but I doubt he'll even sink 100s of millions of his own money into signings. I honestly don't blame him for that.
  19. I actually think we're lucky to have both Keegan and Ashley. If we come out of this with Ashley's long-term plan intact, sprinkled with a big of Keegan big spending in future, that would seem to be the perfect result. Considering how fucked we could have been by now, I'm cautiously optomistic.
  20. Keep dreaming Dave man, that'll never happen :-[ Oh wait, it's true!
