I really don’t understand why clubs tie themselves to these contacts where they have to pay millions to sack someone. It’s mad. Surely the manager needs the club more than the club needs the manager? I’d have thought performance clauses where they can be sacked below a certain league position would be much more common.

Fair enough to a certain extent, but at the moment there is no parade element. If the announcement had been ‘we trying to get a parade sorted, news soon’ then there probably wouldn’t have been any reaction.

I just always imagined a bus parade though the streets and the iconic photos it would generate. Big missed opportunity if (if) they don’t do it.
