I'm baffled by Jones like, he hasn't even tried to put his own spin on things. You'd think he'd at least want to show that he has something about him.

It's a big opportunity for Howe like, imagine if he keeps us up and gets a couple of Saudi-backed transfer windows. It's what he would need to take his career into the next tier of managers. He could elevate himself to the elite level easily if he makes it work. Can't deny it's a bit of a gamble on survival, but even Emery is no guarantee of getting a tune out of the shite we've got now. I was gutted yesterday but I'm prepared to see how he does. TBH if we weren't on such a low points total I'd have no worries at all.

TBH it's just going to class having a new manager and a possibility of some signings, let's see what happens. Not my first choice but seems a smart guy, he has a chance.

Leicester have some sort of magic production line of midfielders like, they obviously recognise the importance of that position.

It's a bit premature to assume he's going to love Ritchie and Fraser just because he knows them from years ago. He'd be a terrible manager if he made decisions like that.

I actually think Howe will come across well when he meets the players, it’s just that his name won’t attract them. But hopefully that’s a minor setback.

What I’m saying is, we don’t know that nobody has ‘gone for him’.

We wouldn’t have gone for anyone as good as Howe under Ashley, surely.

Potter’s managing his career very carefully by all accounts, would be a very risky move when he’s about to have the best ever season at Brighton.

For now we really just need someone who can improve us enough to stay up.

It’s a real shame we’re going down, if the situation wasn’t so dire the stakes would be a lot lower. Hire whoever, take time to get the club reorganised, get a world class manager a bit later.

I would be tempted to turn the job down if I was Howe now.

I don’t mind Howe in isolation. It’s just a much bigger role of the dice. If he does well enough to keep us up I imagine he’ll be replaced. Big opportunity for him to prove he’s good, I guess.

TBH it would be a disaster if that is really how they're thinking. Jones should be peddled ASAP, and anyone who wants to keep him is an idiot. That said, it's probably not true.

Sounds like just an extension of 'why do you want me if you also want someone who's very different'. It's not an unreasonable question, but should be quite easily answered.

Don't think it's fair to compare us to Spurs. They're established and fairly successful, and had failed to get Conte once before. Also it's quite possible he's not a fit for their strategy anyway.
