I must have turned paranoid like you because I honestly thought I saw a little smurk on his face he is probably planning on going to buy a nice big apology present to himself. Or he is a true pro that wouldnt bad mouth his old employer yada yada yada... Respect to him for (£5m) not bad mouthing (£5m) his previous employers, it must of (£5m) took a lot of inner-strength (£5m) to do that, i don't think i could (£5m) of if i got sacked. I dont particularly hate the guy I would love to do a mediocre job overall at a place for less than a year and walk away with my contract paid up np questions asked. I probably can see him going to the likes of Boro, Wigan or one of the newly promoted teams that may come up and doing well. He just didnt have it here and thats fine. As we have both said the money will be helping him sleep at night.

because if you go down the route of getting a caretaker in till the summer/when someone better comes along you may as well keep SA and sack him later when the pay off will be less.

Nice we can agree on things for once nothing wrong with that.

Guess you should have seen it or maybe I have not described it well but went on about the revenue it brings in and how when the team play well the city seems to buzz I cannot disagree with the logic of that if not for simplying it alot. Hate to say it but maybe jenas was right the whole team and possibly anyone connected to the football club is like in a goldfish bowl so many people with their two penneth worth to add about how it is and how it should be done but I wouldnt change it for the world never liked being dull.

Was some shite parts to the local BBC news tonight but there was a 2-3 min slot on why most of the none newcastle supporting people would care less about who manages who at newcastle and it sort of summed up the ethos the city has about the club.
-
Iam more worried about us winning a smaller competition and see what the pressure is like then will cause mass histeria by some and the prem league is just a "few good signings" away I can see it now....
-
Best Game- The Bolton game first game in charge lively encounter and showed what the side could do. Best signing- Beye has been solid when asked to come in. Worst Game- Wigan?Derby x 2? possibly the portsmouth game as a few seasons ago we would have been expected to win that sorta game. Worst Signing- Geremi? showed so much promise pre-season and has been a shadow of that most of this season. Parting Thoughts- Really should have turned us down for the 2/3rd time and took that break he talked about has obviously needed. We were playing the way we hated it and like any manager he thought he knew best and we will never know if what he was laying foundation wise would have paid off.
-
More like it HTT thought you were giving up on the toon for one sec. We have been known for more off field stuff than honours and this is just another piece of the pie guess i have just learned to never guess newcastle united regardless who is in charge.

might mean terry mac well get the sack though or demoted to bar stool which has to be a good thing!
-
Why not, if he can get Messi and Ronaldinho to follow him over here. Be happy to have someone with some contacts who can get little gems like sven has managed to.
-
how about Franklin Rijkaard
-
True James and while Iam not disagreeing seen as I know as much as you do however common sense wise he surely didnt put 200+ million into a club just because he spun a coin or threw a dart at the prem league to pick one so he must have connections as well as any wealthy successful person would. When you own businesses you obviously cannot be an expert at everything about them so you need someone to help in your desicsion making process and seen as its such a fundamentally expense business getting a taken manager or sacking one it needs to be a very well calculated choice.
-
That would be making the assumption that Ashley and Mort have good knowledge of the game. They remain unproven, so you can't say how good or bad the appointment is going to be. Although I see Ashley as the type to do it his way how about assuming just like anything in business you research and you ask for opinion. Maybe I am being stupid thinking there is a chance Ashley will know who he wants due to him asking the right questions of the right people.
-
Out of interest HTT and forgive me if you have already been asked or stated but who would you like to see come in to make this whole thing "worth while"??
-
So they fired the manager without having someone already lined up? ffs. ssn have been very contradictory on one hand they say Ashley knows who he wants they are also reporting that they will take as much time as they need. All seems to point they know patchy information to say the least. The common sense part in me recons no one would do this unless they have a pritty good back up plan saying that we still dont know exactly how good this board is at making "crunch" choices
-
cause they said "fuck off" and he didnt fight it he took the bag of money and ran to his car laughing going "yippee yipee I am comming steve to buy a house next to yours" btw its just a theory
-
no shearer and no foreign manager so who the fuck do they want!!!!
-
well I dont see why he doesnt give carroll a good look over but obviously as many have said he hasnt exactly set the world alight when he went to preston.
-
it appears sa has more faith in carroll than shola, I feel if he had a bit more go about him he would have moved on as he is never going to be anything but a bench warmer here. I too dont know him personally but my friend from work sees him every week obviously for church and regularly gets a chance to talk to him never seems anything other than a humble lad who knows he got lucky finding his feet with newcastle. He always had decent perfomances in the uefa as teams didnt know what to make of someone so tall and "gangly" but never seems to cut it in the prem.
-
it reminded me of boa morte's place that not grand putting into account how much they are on when you compare their places to redknapps place its like they are living on a council estate
-
Dave that episode is ancient he will have remodeled a few times by now surely!
-
not that i want to start a debate on this but the guy i go to work with is in shola's church group, they dont sit round pointing people as sinners, and by all accounts he is a really down to earth lad.
-
have often thought what it would have been like if he had been given his shares and moved onto a directing role at the club, but i feel after he moved on it wasn't really the same Keegan for me. 200m could be sunk into the club on the pitch and we may still go no where certainly a romantic thought having it go back to the good old days but as many have said times have moved on dramatically and I just dont think he has the mental stamina to ever do it at top flight again.
-
I am sure i remember when he left Bolton it was supposedly for a break from football then he gets offered a big challenge in us that he felt he could do but mentally he may have still wanted the break. Only time will tell I voted to loose him now but agree with HTT's comment in a previous thread that it would have to be for someone that was a mark improvement and not just someone of equal ability, we are somewhat a poison challace and need a special sort of manager to turn it round.
