We simply cannot win games without Bruno, I get we bought him relatively cheaply so say he is still standing us 25m on the books so we make 75m "profit". From my poor understanding of current rules (which are likely out the window some form or another soon anyway) you can bank the money but push the spending of the money over 3 years so allows you to spend 225m? however depending on what happens with the wages rules wouldn't free up 225m worth of player wages. Also it has been debated but we like buying from this league which doesnt come cheap say we cash in but then spend 50/60m on Onana from Everton? or 70m on Morgan Gibbs White it isn't going to go very far, very quickly you find yourself in a similar position to now, most of your headroom spent and unable to invest without sales.

Daily mail article I just read was light on details but instead of a points deduction you pay a tax on overspending. Article suggests this may go to other clubs in the league as a payment for not over spending. Or Go towards clubs in the pyramid as a fund goes towards clubs that have found themselves in financial difficulty. I guess like everything got to see the detail first.

I agree that longstaff is the first out the door above the other outfield players but if you don't have a buyer you cannot sell. Also with long term injuries they sometimes don't come back the same player. I guess thanks to ffp maybe gone are the days of 40m for bog standard English prem players so he wouldn't attract a hefty fee anyway.

Based on his transfer fee, age and assume modest wage I can see why we offered a year we simply don't have the budget to overhaul the squad to the level it needs to down to the 3rd choice levels. In theory he can play more than one position and doesn't seem mad warming the bench if 1st and second choice are fit. However the theory goes out the window when you try and rely upon 3rd choice to start games. He was poor today.

Reactionary I know but based on recent performances and the "relatively" small fee considering age and English tax, we paid for him. If we have to sell, would anyone be happy to move him on in the summer to free up funds.

It kept getting pushed back much like updates on barnes returning to grass months later we finally see him following "set backs". While what Howe says in pressers can't be taken as gospel we originally heard rumour of March then a confirmation he was back on the grass but not doing diving now this them rumour was April then late April now it's season over.... Seems like if and when they do a medical review of this shit show of a season for injuries rehabilitation and bringing people back needs to be up their with earlier diagnosis. He's a big miss and as tight as 6th to 10th still is a fit nick pope adds points or higher chance of points when he is in the side could make the difference as we run out of defenders.

The bodies we now need to recruit mean we definitely need to sell to buy what's required unless we have loads of new sponsorships sitting in the wings. For all the players we would be gutted would have to go to make it happen for me Sean isn't one of them.

No I don't feel sorry for a multi millionaire who gets paid a good wage to do what he loves. Yes he has been around a long time but I think my point in my mind it wasn't a thing to compliment him on but as symptom of what was wrong with the club the bumper 6 year deal signed in 2018 (which obviously also had an option to trigger an extra year), has set him up for life. I dont blame him for this as anyone would do the same but at the same time if he was good enough for anyone else he would have been moved on long before now. I dont think being here classes as being a fantastic servant he played a part and got paid well for it, we all know that if FFP didnt exist he would have been pushed off to the glue factory within 2 transfer windows of the take over.

we supposedly triggered our ability to extend for a year was announced sort of unofficially in a presser by Howe, cant really feel sorry for him he has only had a chance again since the take over thanks to FFP and will now be sitting on a nice wedge winding down his contract again on the clubs pay and then gets to be looked after and rehabbed fully fit etc into the end of next season on a free.

hope being able to shoot from distance isnt coached out of him, we have always played to get into a good position to then recycle the ball to try and confuse/free up more space etc, the number of touches in their box yesterday is testament that at times we want to almost walk it into the goal. I get if a shot from distance can see the opposition quickly move up field the other way but when its a low block and chaotic anything can happen.

Being "one of our own" and "lives for the club" has a fairy tale element to it. According to what is portrayed he lives at the place goes to the development team games etc and is living the dream at the club he loves. Unfortunately for me all that love and character is his best quality. In terms of football terms we have been carrying him, the desire for him to do good is just not going to happen he isn't a 20 year old kid coming through he is a senior pro. I would love a local element or at least an academy prospect getting games for the club for years to come but they have to be worth the time on the pitch. If he had of not been local and signed for an actual fee I don't think he would get such an easy ride.

When pressed on the issue eddie has said clearly you can't make a player have surgery while hindsight is a wonderful thing it doesn't sound like a failing of the club if they cannot force someone contractually or not to do it. The annoyance for me is he was still out for a very long time resting/rehab etc so it isn't like the no surgery was a short term solution either he could have been back before the end the season or for preseason if he had of just got it done.

Our good old sour puss himself Hope was on true faith and mentioned while away they were struggling to field a 5 a side game due to internationals, injuries etc so think it was more of a break/reset and focus. Also this is my own opinion but as the season has turned out so poorly not sure a glut of content of the lads living it up away would go down well in some quarters of the fan base.
