  1. just out of interest, did the tackle on haidara make the portugese press?
  2. doesnt savage realise thats why he never made it at manu, and starred instead for the likes of brum, leicester, blackburn and derby. how the hell has he ended up with a column for the bbc?
  3. savage spouting s**** as normal "McManaman will learn from it and that should be the end of it - at the moment I feel a bit sorry for him, although clearly I wish the young boy Haidara well too and hopefully he is not badly injured. But, speaking as someone who made my living out of tackling, I understand how it happened. I know that as soon as McManaman committed himself to that challenge then there was no way he could pull out of it. You sometimes have a split-second to decide whether to make a tackle and, if it was for a 50-50 ball like that one, then in my mind I would be thinking if anyone's getting hurt here, then it's not me. Most of the time, the other player is thinking the same. So I would go in as hard as I could to protect myself but my aims were always to win the ball and not get hurt. If you pull out, or go in tentatively, then it is you who gets hurt. It is a bit like a plane taking off, because there is a point of no return. Once you are past that, you know that if you have got it wrong then the outcome can be nasty." if you dont want to cripple someone, then dont take off knee high studs showing

    Horror tackle

anger on par with ruddock on pedro and graveson on ollie
  6. inconclusive sounds reassuring - no obvious ruptured tendons or fractures
  7. De Jong's wasn't nearly as bad as this. I'm not sticking up for De Jong but a lot of the reation to that was down to who got injured and the extent of it. ref claimed he had seen the incident at the time and hadnt thought a foul - hence FA couldnt take action
  8. hope so, even if it doesnt get anywhere - just to piss whelan off, and put the shits up that little chav cunt.
  9. I haven't read the thread as I'll probably just end up annoyed again but has it been mentioned that hundreds of Wigan fans were booing him when he stayed down? Even when he'd been down for 2 minutes and the stretcher finally came on, they were still on their feet angrily wavering their webbed hands. aye reminded me of the southampton fans when dyer had been taken out. absolute cunts. one of them even ran neary half the length of the stand to give him abuse as he was being stretchered off the pitch
  10. would be tempted to recall fergie from his loan
  11. great write up on david whelan's comments on nufc.com exposing him for the lying hypocrite that he is

  14. perch at centre back with mapou RB? cant bear thought of having simpson back in the team.
  15. he needs to get back to basics and keep things simple
  16. he could try him at RB for the next couple of games
  17. when he first signed, I think he knew his limitations and played accordingly. no attempting these hollywood passes or shooting from 40 yards
  18. his brother-in-law is president of fc porto
