I wouldn't mind if it were magic mushrooms.

Is Dennis Wise a disruptive influence? Or are the fans making him one?
NG32 replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
there's a few quotes from mort from around january which basically say that keegan is just the coach. i think he had some say in the targets but they were unrealistic so wise and the other two had to get the players in as the end of the window was getting nearer. There’s also quotes from Wise saying Keegan had the final say on transfers. Face it, the management structure Ashley put in place was/is garbage So why do you think Wise undermined him on the last day of the transfer window and not the first if this was always the case? For me, the explanation that best fits the information we have is that Keegan was jerking everyone around until someone finally lost their temper and told him to f*** off. Getting sacked with compensation was always Keegan's main objective, and he took advantage of it. Everyones happy to laugh and denoune it as rubbish but i dont see many alternative explanations being brought to the table. Personally my theory is that Keegan didnt know the market well enough and struggled to find players who fit in with the clubs (now vindicated transfer policy), he constantly reminded everyone that premiership experience was vitally important but obviously this criteria would contradict the clubs transfer policy as there were few players who would fit into the young and premiership experience criteria, andwould provide value for money, Guthrie is an example of when Keegan got it right. I think that the club brought the attention of many players to keegan but becasue he didnt know who they were and dint have an oppurtunity to see them in action he turned them down, i belive this process went on and on until Wise and co felt they had to act and hence the signing of Xisco and Nacho, we apparently had bids for Warnock and we also alledgedly had atouba on his way which shows that the club were looking to fill the LB spot. -
Yeah, watch our for the spelling & grammar Nazis as well.

Has he gone yet??

Hmmm, 1) why has the communication from the club been so poor? 2) Will you be here next season.

Or perhaps both. Indeed. Martins, Shola, Smith & Saviola. -

If we are going for Saviloa, then Viduka must be totally finished or we are willing to let Owen go early? -

Let's not forget Mr Andrew Cole either tbh. He was flogged as part of a plan that the manager was happy with. We replaced the c*** with Les Ferdinand. You cant compare that with the Woodgate situation. Agreed. Getting back to Given though, as with Milner wanting away it looks like we may have to cash in, but hopefully we can do the same as Cole and use the money wisely (which may well mean having to hold fire and wait on a player like we did with Sir Les). Indeed but we could do with a couple of loans til the end of the season.

Constructive comment....... I think the main gripe anyone is having is the utter lack of communication with the fans. -
Defo, This is a game hopes and dreams are made of..............................and also smashed.

I dont speak redundant languages, what is he saying? That it would be a backward step going to Newcastle. I meant French as a language is redundant.

It went down to the last day of the season, even after we had caved in. i agree but at the end i didnt really deep down we'd get the title. i believed we would beat forest, but I couldnt see man united slipping up. With the Chelsea FA Cup match, and at the point when we went 1-0 up against Lisbon I truly believed we'd do it. And we should have. Aye but there was still another game to play after that.

Was that the game that Robert rocketed one in the top corner and Woodgate hit the bar? No, that was Liverpool away in the FA cup. The Chelsea game we lost 2-1, Rob Lee for us and Poyet for them.

I know, I didn't say it wasn't. We were close but we were demolished on the day, I didn't feel like it was going to happen. Still very gutting. The Sporting game however was just a complete collapse when we should have booked our place in the last 4. I really felt that we could win it that year too. How mad would it have been for Souness to win us the UEFA Cup.

95/96 league, so close.
