  1. All I'm thinking is that maradona is trying his best to insure that both I and babatunde remain happy all summer.

    Club statement

This took me literally fifteen minutes. That wasn't that hard was it? It shocks me how whichever monkey that was paid to draft this statement managed to word it in the worst way humanly possible. Next time please get any reasonably educated college-graduate to proofread your s*** please. Actually never mind, because if they stick to their word Thank God because there won't be a next time.

    Club statement

The people running our club sound like idiots whenever they open their mouths so I suppose it's a good thing that they've decided not to do so in the future. Even if they have to sound like idiots one last time to declare it.
  4. I got up from the couch, turned my computer on, and logged in just to say this. Gary Caldwell
  5. Ah I love these lower-league crunch time games. The palpable tension makes them so much fun to watch. Especially since we're not involved.
  6. It's actually a fairly reasonable assumption that the top teams will realize that they have serious holes in their squad that allowed other clubs to threaten them his season and spend significantly in response.
  7. The so-called "fairweather" fans are the best fucking thing about the world cup. How can you not like everybody in the country being as footy-mad as you are for two whole weeks? The unifying passion that the WC elicits is one of the most amazing things in our world IMO. It's bigger than just football.
  8. Sure, hodgson is going to throw away everything he's achieved at fulham to come into a relegation fight and we're going to destroy the first bit of stability we've had in a decade to switch managers for no good reason
  9. I just read something that I wrote the day we went down, saying how that I'd like nothing more in life than to pass Hull City and that cunt Phil Brown by on our way back up this time next year. So... :celb::celb::celb:
  10. Has looked a shadow of his former self since he joined. Sure he's a good player to have in the hole behind the strikers, but a Monaco reject? No thanks. Park Joo-Young is a better Gudjohnsen than Gudjohnsen right now.
  11. Surely Babel is beyond us both wages and reputation-wise? Somebody better off than us is going to see the raw physicality and potential and take a punt. I wouldn't mind him. Exactly the kind of striker we lack.
  12. This is completely theoretical, but would anyone take Oba back?
  13. How can you not enjoy a season with both THE Nicky Butt Overhead Kick and THE Kevin Nolan Overhead Kick Goal?
  14. I'd certainly be very happy to welcome everyone back to South Korea for 2022 I just don't think we have a serious shot at it though. - too soon - We're the "safe" choices. Nothing exotic about us anymore. - bound to be concerns about increasing tensions with the North etc. One thing I'm holding out hope on is that our man in FIFA is a master at this sort of thing and has a history of pulling rabbits out of his hat. (Us getting half the WC in 2002 was nothing short of a miracle) I at least hope it doesn't go to Qatar though. Personally I don't think you should be allowed to host a World Cup before you've actually been there!
  15. Reo-Coker would be fine. Probably about one of the better DMs we could get at our level.
  16. Reminds me of when ManU visited Korea and two of my toon-supporting mates went and camped out at the airport just to hurl insults at Owen for thirty seconds. Just wish I could find that video...
  17. Wow, this happened in October so I basically missed this whole thread completely. Interesting stuff.
  18. We had similar crowds for 2006 as well (when the matches were on after midnight.) 2002 was such a profound shared cultural experience for us... It's basically imprinted into our DNA to flock to the streets when world cup footy is on now. I personally think we have a very good chance of making the second round. We've got our best team ever and Greece and Nigeria(sorry babatunde ) both look very beatable to me. Of course, it'll still require some good form and plenty of luck on our part.
  19. It's like watching an exhibition match. I just feel kind of "meh" about it. This is flabbergasting to me. My entire country literally goes insane. For an entire month. (Well, okay admittedly we're rarely still in contention for the whole month, so probably more like two weeks) http://photo.gm.go.kr/down/%EA%B9%80%EC%9C%A0%EC%A2%85(%EC%9B%94%EB%93%9C%EC%BB%B5)5.jpg I am looking forward to some more of this in two month's time.
  20. I mean ideally yeah we'd get somebody with great pace, stamina, passing, vision etc. But that's not a luxury we have as a newly prmoted side, all the players we get will be limited in one way or another... And if there's one kind of midfielder we lack at the moment it's a good, energetic hard-tackler.
  21. Guthrie can Pass, Barton can pass. What we need in midfield is some energy.
  22. Alright, I've finally thought of a good Korean to plug in this thread Cho Won-Hee, plays for Wigan but Martinez didn't fancy him when he came in and loaned him out to his old club in Korea this season. He is literally the Korean Nigel Reo-Coker, Runs hard, tackles well, can't pass. He's got Park-level stamina and a great attitude. Seems like exactly the player we need. Would probably do well over there if someone gave him a chance. Then again, we'd probably have a good shot at getting the actual Nigel Reo-Coker himself, wouldn't we?
  23. Match started at 3:45AM on a work day for me. I sat through 90 minutes of relatively unexciting football just so I could watch the celebrations. ....Then I fell asleep during injury time. Argh.
