  1. Did you just fire off a random email through to them? Despite the debate going on about what makes for a good match atmosphere, surely everyone can now agree that the ability to choose your own seat must be brought back?

Yep. Ridiculous isn't it?. The Gallowgate is still the "Kop" end but it's nowhere near as good as it was in the 90s.

I'd be absolutely gutted if we brought drums into our atmosphere. For all the noise they made last night, it was still a horrible experience and not in any way something to admire. In a way, you can see why the German & French leagues have been left in the dust compared to the Premier League. Despite the noise, their atmospheres are completely devoid of drama and manufactured to the hilt. That comes through to the TV viewer and probably bores them rigid. Give me an atmosphere of 50,000 people wildly celebrating getting a corner compared to 80,000 robots banging a drum for 90 minutes.

No, the problem with the ballot is that it has taken away that element from match day experience that you "earned" your right to be in the ground. I've been going for decades too and there has always been an element that you needed to put the work in to get your place in the stadium. Whether it be standing in an actual queue at the box office for all-ticket games, or simply just arriving at the ground at 2pm to get your regular place on the terrace, there was a feeling that you had done your bit as a dedicated fan to be there. The ballot has completely destroyed that, and allowed people who simply could not give a fuck about the club to get a ticket ahead of people who are, to be blunt, better supporters. Bin the ballot and bring back the queue, with the ability to choose your own seat. If the club want to keep tabs on everyone via a paid membership scheme then fair enough. But members should still have to put the extra effort into getting a seat. It's the best way of separating the wheat from the chaff.

I’ve fully made my mind up now that this wretched ballot has got to be binned off and the old queueing system brought back. The ballot is a system that makes it too easy for half-arsed hangers-on to get a ticket while at the same time putting a block in front of dedicated proper fans who will put the extra effort in to get a ticket by queuing for as long as it takes. Day trippers just enter the ballot and forget about it, not arsed if they get a ticket or not. It’s fucking disgraceful and it’s about time the club were properly called out for it. That crowd tonight thought that by putting in a bit of effort against PSG the other week they didn’t need to try for a “lesser’ team like Dortmund. That’s the very definition of shit supporters.

Yep. Considering how much TNT bigged up the atmosphere pre-match that was really embarrasing. It genuinely sounded like we were playing away. No wonder the team never got going when you've got a crowd who just turned up to be entertained. So many plastics in there now and the only way it will be fixed is by creating more standing sections around the ground.
  7. Yeah but the tone of your post was that those not in the ground cant really criticize those in it.
  8. "Fans online" So anyone who couldn't get a ticket can't criticize the ones who did? It's been pitiful man.
  9. Are Dortmund playing at home? 45 mins of noise from them and have barely heard a peep from our lot. Pathetic stuff.
  10. Seems a bit calm and quiet for 20 mins to go. I hope people aren’t still in the fucking bars ffs. PSG it was rocking in there by now.

Olive Grove was thebrokendoll off Toontastic btw. He got a lifetime ban for those absolutely tame posts. Why any NUFC fan actually posts on there is beyond me. Give it back to them in anything remotely like the fashion that they dish out and the toys come out of the pram and your banned. Absolute crybabies.

Unfortunately the opposite is going to happen, as when the ground expansion arrives there will be even more of these types.
  14. Somehow I don’t think he will be going to a home game v Luton anytime soon.
  15. Nice video of an American's first experience of SJP. Pretty decent first game to go to mind.

    Yep, agree with that.

Their pre-WW2 history mainly which, in all fairness, is impressive. In 1939 they were comfortably one of the biggest clubs in the country but they have dined out on it for a long time now. Ask yourself this. Who, outside of Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Spurs, Everton, Villa and Newcastle are bigger than them? West Ham certainly are now and arguably Leeds too, based on potential. After that though there is very little between around another 10 clubs, one of which is SAFC. Based on their crowds and early history I'd put them leading the pack of a 2nd tier of clubs that includes the likes of Wolves, West Brom and Leicester.

Their average league placing since the end of WW2 is a place or two outside of the top 20, making them officially a 2nd tier club. In the PL era it's even worse, 25th. They like to bang on at us, asking why we have some expectancy that our club challenge at the top when our average league place is about 11th. Well if that's the case, why should they expect that they be competing in the PL, based on nearly the last 80 years of their history? I'd still put them about 12th to 15th biggest club in the country but they've been getting progressively smaller over a long period of time. Ironically, a successful NUFC could possibly help them turn that around, as a more attractive North East to the world's top footballers could rub off on them to a certain extent.
  19. It sounds like getting out of his Milanese environment was desperately needed then. Eddie will turn this lad around too, and not just with regards to the football either.
  20. If he hasn't bet on football and the Italians tell us to ban him then we had better be telling them to go fuck themselves. Banning a player from their trade for Blackjack & Poker FFS. They can fuck right off.

    St James' Park

Yeah, goes to the trouble of "exclusively" announcing that a committee is discussing the viability of moving the terrace, then finishes off by saying it will could never/will never happen. So why would there be such a committee at all then? He made the video so he could claim some ITK credit if it ever happens. Trouble is he will look a bit of a tit if it does.
  22. Wandy

    St James' Park

Yeah, he's definitely disappearing up his own backside with each passing video. Still quite like the channel, but it's quite staggering how he casually dismisses other people's theories but puts forward his own as somehow more authentic.

    St James' Park

I guess that means that you are one the worst culprits for the ridicule then.
  24. Wandy

    St James' Park

Quite ironic, considering he has stated adamantly on his other previous videos that this kind of thing could never & would never happen. Would also make a lot of people on here eat humble pie as it routinely became the in-joke to sarcastically mention it. Realistically, it's the only viable way of getting SJP properly expanded. And by moving the terrace, I imagine it would give the option of an even bigger expansion down the line. Maybe one day we will actually see that Level 7 full-bowl mock-up come to life?
  25. Yep. The clause is there to make sure the selling club gets a price they like, and also to provide an unhappy player with a quick getaway if they have an exit plan in place. Its not there to allow a buyer free roam to poach a player and leave the seller with no power to stop it.
