Speculation that Newcastle would make a loan move for Manchester United defender Craig Cathcart has ended with confirmation that he's signed for Watford. The Northern Ireland U21 international was close to joining the Magpies permanently in a deadline day transfer, only for the move to collapse - apparently on medical grounds. Cathcart moves to Vicarage Road on loan until January, amid newspaper claims that Newcastle were unable to complete a deal due to financial constraints.
