  1. tim sherwood is the pundit in the studio here, you can tell he knows his football but he's blinded by being english to the point of talking absolute nonsense he'd not be a good fit for us at all
  2. He was great in Spain before moving to Arsenal, but he's always been defensively very suspect. Sure he might be OK somewhere else but does not look a good fit for the English game at all
  3. how the fuck is this monreal a professional footballer? everytime i see him he's getting torn to shreds
  4. if the fans owned our club we'd not last 5 fucking minutes man, haven't you been paying attention? they'd have to coin a new word because clusterfuck wouldn't cover it
  5. No doubt about it. The media has no allegiances to anyone, be it managers, owners, commissioners or players. It's incredible what goes on in this country, regarding the media favourability for certain individuals. I know its all slanted and agenda based everywhere, but sports reporters latch on to to this stuff here, they'd not let Ashley live a moment. Banning media is also like the biggest no-no man. You get fined for not talking to the media, or avoiding them. Owners who say racist things are fucking forced to sell their teams up! The Keegan thing? He'd have lost the team for that. Every single fall out with us? He'd have DAILY reports, full on hour segments, comments from anyone and everyone and he'd be forced to sell b/c the MEDIA would make his Sports Direct look even worse. Investigative journalists would be salivating at the chance to uncover the so called "benefits" that SD gets from not paying advertising etc for Newcastle. They'd be calling Charnley, Ashley, his advisors, Pardew, anyone associated with the club and trying to dig into why/what his intentions are, and they'd come out with cold hard facts, and then (hell) there'd be some provision that the league could force him to sell the club. I've said it before and say it again - you all clown American sports organizations and all that, and by all means, it deserves it most of the time - but when the NBA wanted to drop the hammer on the Clippers and now the Hawks, they did it. And look who the next Clippers owner is? Former CEO of Microsoft. You'd not have cunts like Tan, Ashley, or the Venkys fools anywhere near owning football clubs as they'd have been hounded out of town as soon as the knives were sharp enough and the media could get heads to turn. agree with all of this tbh. The sports media in the US is far superior to what we have. the level of analysis in american sports is crazy mind, it's the nature of sports over there imo wondering how they are with ex-pro's coming out and criticising current coaches etc.? that loyalty holds back the english game so much
  6. holy fuck how did i forget the raoul moat shit?
  7. Multi-millionaire? I doubt it. Obviously has a quid or two but has a very expensive lifestyle and he'd better factor in an expensive divorce if his wife fidns out the extent of his philandering. Whatever cash he has, I hope he's putting enough of it away because he's going to need it when he eventually 'leaves' NUFC..! I didn't say multimillionaire. I'm not sure how expensive his lifestyle is tbh, I've absolutely no idea what his lifestyle is like. I agree on the divorce/philandering part mind. factor in he was sacked at west ham and charlton which would have earned him sizeable payoffs on top of what he earned as a player, he'd have to be actively trying not to be a millionaire
  8. aye but if you were a buyer coming in to the books and he'd just took 130m or something out of the club then asked for 130m debt as part of the sale you'd tell him to fuck off then again he could pay the loan off and just demand what he wants for the club anyway i suppose
  9. is there an alternative to that? could he realistically pay himself all the TV money while keeping the loan and then insist on the loan as part of the sale? can't see any buyers going for that personally I should imagine this is what he's hoping for. it would literally break me if he could pull that off
  10. is there an alternative to that? could he realistically pay himself all the TV money while keeping the loan and then insist on the loan as part of the sale? can't see any buyers going for that personally
  11. funny one him not going for rangers the state they're in like, you'd imagine he'd be able to turn that shit around into $$ in no time
  12. Journo's should b all over nufc like, Ashley runs the club like North Korea. exactly, what's it going to take for them to get a bit more militant with their writing? they already have no access so they might as well get stuck in
  13. the best part is ashley doesn't fucking talk to anyone 2 journalists went to ask him questions at the AGM and he stonewalled them, if edwards had gone to the club what response would he have got? so we won't talk to anyone about anything and don't like being questioned, however make sure you don't speculate because if you print something you've not checked with us first (albeit we'll not answer you) you're banned
  14. mind you, that statement really knocks the wind out of any hope i had of pardew going that statement basically says i'll do what i fucking want, here's a big fuck you to everyone
  15. Ah yeah the sponsorship money being spent really rings a bell now
  16. you'd have to be fucked to think we're going to go there and win, it's a possibility of course but all current indicators point to us getting a right dicking whatever way you look at it
  17. roughly 63m added to the debt seems a lot like if purchase debt was 67m, sure one of the lads will be along to explain it at some stage
  18. i thought the relegation & overdraft payoff cost us an extra 30m from his own pocket or thereabouts debt is 130m or something so how did it from 67m to 100m prior to the relegation?
  19. nah, i meet useless, arrogant, full-of-themselves know nothings everyday and have done all my life tbh talent and ego are not linked in that way at all
  20. from the stories you hear he's got a massive ego problem though no? if not for that i'd tend to agree, to me he has the air of a man who has no special ability as a manager and knows it, thus he has no real convictions in terms of how his team plays so we've not developed a style over the 4 years if he'd managed to develop a george graham defensive machine 0-0'ing and 1-0'ing games then fair enough but we're miles away from that he's out of his depth, he knows it, but he's going to cling on to the end because he'll never get another job like this
  21. yeah think it was the 30 day payment (?) that was the surprise aye was it only 67m when he took over? so he's close to doubled the debt then? don't follow those finacial posts on here that closely
  22. defensive solidity man never fails to amuse me
  23. yeah but they're talking to americans this time gimp, have some faith, they wouldn't just lie to us
  24. I don't believe a word of that. As far as I know we were actually approached by the corrupt bloke who ended up owning Portsmouth for a few months. He was working for Mansour right up until and slightly after buying Man City, he spat his dummy out when he didn't become Man City chairman. According to him, perhaps. Either way I don't believe an offer was made from Mansour and Ashley rejected it. was that not around the same time he was looking for 400m or whatever for the club though? mansour got citeh for 80m or something didn't he? not beyond the realms of possibility He paid about £210m for City as the deal included 'buying' the debts of about £170m Yeah that's right, but I'm sure Ashley was looking for much more than that at the same time. Oh no doubt Ashley would have tried to push for as much as possible, i know the media spoke of £400m but the latest articles show how little they truly know. Fact is back then he would have been gone if the £250m ish he spent was offered i'm not convinced, this was before all the cost-cutting and making the club into a giant advert for cheap tat - ashley seemed to genuinely believe he had an asset on his hands back then and he could demand what he wanted for it
