  1. gonna be an agonising time for you then kidda 'cause it ain't happening quick is it?
  2. wow, i'm amazed at that tbh especially as we've not been paying uncle mike interest on it...imagine if it'd still been owed to the banks these last few years
  3. That's yet another case of the press (local in this case) picking up random numbers and putting dubious interpretations on them. St James Holdings is 100% owned and funded by Mike Ashley. He used the company to buy the club for £138 million and also to loan the club a further £150 million making £288 million in total. The club does not owe Ashley for what he paid for it but it does owe him for the money he loaned. So the club does not have debt of £288 million, the figure is £150 million. we still have 150,000,000 debt? fucking hell man
  4. Didnt you say that Valencia couldnt afford him yesterday?

    Ronaldo

i was initially gonna chelp at what ronaldo said but i somehow think he's right, messi's too clean cut and harder to love - ronaldo was just a force of nature that went out too quickly it's probably an age thing too, how old you were when ronaldo was in his pomp messi is and will be the better all round player imo though
  6. i think stoke might end up being a good shout to come in for nolan (someone here mentioned them), would seem to be an ideal fit for them and they'd probably stump up enough brass to turn our heads

    Gervinho

liverpool need wingers like a bloke in the desert needs a bottle of water surely? My apoligies, didnt realise he was a winger. Only seen him a few times, and he always played a central role. (inless im thinking of the wrong player) think you might be aye

  9. tiote, cabaye, jonas, gosling, HBA, gervinho/zog, ferguson, barton, smith (ahem), guthrie (ahem) let's assume that's our midfield options next season and we're playing a variation of 4-3-3 frankly i don't see a lot of games myself for nolan
  10. oh sorry i meant to say "take a chance" not "throw gosling in 'cause he'll be guaranteed to succeed" and if it wasn't clear i meant assuming nolan was going to be a bench warmer due to new signings rather than a first team regular when i said take his spot in the squad, rather than team
  11. what these lot are saying imo, if he's gonna be a passenger next year i think i'd rather take a chance on gosling filling his spot in the squad and use his (presumably) sizable wages elsewhere, perhaps to secure barton or a new striker
  12. i know ffs, 2.5 months of chelpers coming on the board and whittering on about people discussing transfer issues at the club they love might delete my account tbh
  13. oh, had on, it's as simple as that is it? well aye then, nolan stays It won't be easy to shift the crap from our squad but they're the only ones we should consider selling at the moment. Nolan should not be going anywhere. as i said if it was that easy i'd agree but we're gonna have that pish next season regardless so if this whole thing is the club wanting to "upgrade" nolan for football reasons then i say so be it if it's all a storm in a teacup and he stays then great...no-one really suggesting he has to go or anything but there are clear football reasons why he might be seen as a target to be moved on by the club imo (not to mention financial)
  14. oh, had on, it's as simple as that is it? well aye then, nolan stays
  15. I think we might get £4m but I'd be happy enough if we took £3m rather than keep him here. Nolan's been a good pro for us apart from being too fat and probably liking a pint too much, but the Championship or small town premier club is where he belongs. apparently not fashionable but i might agree with this if they had someone good lined to replace him + cabaye if cabaye is the replacement then it's a bit shite as we need quality in numbers, would rather see guthrie and smith leave for fuck and keep nolan if he won't be replaced properly I think we are probably banking on Gosling playing a much bigger role next season, he's a similar type of player. There's always a risk in moving on an influential player but you can't grow as a club without taking calculated risks. fuck aye forgot about him, well yeah would make sense then as long as barton doesn't go without being replaced then as i said earlier i have the suspicion they want to move to a more pass and move game with the likes of HBA running the show plus whoever they can get in as well...nolan ain't sitting too well in that scenario imo

  17. 'If' being the most important word there. I'd not sell anyone until we're absolutely sure that we WILL get in replacements who are of a better quality. Nolan's proven as a Premiership midfielder, whatever else people might think of him. I think we can do better, but he's decent and I'd not want to end up in the situation where Nolan and Barton leave but then Gervinho et al tell us to sod ff and we have to sign Billy Bloggs from Droylsdon 3rd XI over 40s team as he's the only bugger left who'll come on August 31st. Definitely. i don't recall advocating we should mind
  18. even assuming henderson isn't totally average and carroll can fulfill his potential consistently it's simply not gonna happen fast enough for liverpool imo they need a challenge for the league and they need it fast, they won't get it with henderson et al imo
  19. so we're saying 5m is nolans value then are we? was just wondering, wouldn't bite for that myself just yet but if there's a long term strategic footballing plan in place that doesn't involve nolan i'd rather have 3m now than pay his wages for the next 2 years while he rots on the bench let's be honest, doesn't look likely to fit into our style of play if we sign some of our targets does he?
  20. why can't we have nice things?
  21. nobody would take 3m huh?
  22. must involve a decent player or two to arsenal, bojan for starters?
  23. depends if it affects his performances surely? we don't want the fucking nolan that played a nice big, fat part in taking us down rearing his head again do we? hopefully he's a pro about it, same with barton
