A point I made a week or two ago only to be slaughtered. age of austerity ain't it guv? you should be happy we're not pulling tramps in off the street to play apparently
  6. Win on saturday and i think we are pretty much safe, get beat and i think we could slide.
  7. anything can happen, could go either way now - for me the balance is tipped towards staying up at the moment but it won't take much for it to tip the other way is all
  8. can't see it at work - FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU
  9. this has got massive potential to go south like ian, it really has - we're literally at the worst point of the season to start or be on a winless run
  10. called the last relegation miles ahead of it looking likely as i knew there was no hope this one i think we need one win to kickstart us again and we'll then scrape through - the longer we don't win now then the worse it's gonna get obviously perfect opportunity coming but then how many have we already blown at home?
  11. Assuming that Nolan does the "easy passing" well, if he ends up getting the same amount of goals as a more creative AM gets assists, isn't he essentially doing the same thing? (In a much less pretty way, of course) i guess the point would be that in a 4 man midfield as the AM if he isn't dictating the game and providing the killer passes, someone else is doing it for him Hmm, I think that might be the lad we have playing out on the right. agreed

  13. punks original post where pretty much agrees with that, the bit in bold being key: i think punk was reasonably spot on bar his use of the word "inaccurate", i think things went a little off topic there but otherwise i agree with him
  14. I might have overgeneralized his inaccuracy. He's solid as long as he makes easy passes..But he's the one who should perform the killer pass, not Tiote.. i thought so, and you're probably right in that respect generally speaking
  15. while i agree with this it only stands up if the club definitely looked at the short view - if they honestly re-invest the money this summer and we come out with a better squad and challenge europe next season then it doesn't stand up at all personally i don't think they're capable of the long view
  16. punk will no doubt answer but isn't he essentially saying that for being considered our primary AM he has a poor range of 'attack-minded' passes and his range is more akin to a DM? wouldn't disagree with that entirely
  17. i see what punks saying with those diagrams but it doesn't back up his original point as pilko said
  18. having said that, the bit you said can't be proved either way surely can be? (supporting that asset stripping post i mean) either ashley is coining his money back or he isn't, won't the accounts show that?
  19. nah i totally and utterly agree as it happens, it just reads funny first off ronaldo's "barton playing best football of his career" jive is a case in point, he can't prove it and i can't prove i think he played his best stuff in his city breakout years and also it's the internetz talking to loads of strangers, i've never understood the lengths people go to to prove themselves cleverer than anyone else, say what you think and move on if i want to write a dissertation i'll go back to uni
