  1. "Messi has scored 48 goals in all competitions this season." "The Argentinian, 23, has scored 95 goals in his last 99 games" good fucking god
  2. how longs his real contract? no way he walks for nowt, no way real sack him even if they come away with nothing, no way spurs pay up his contract he'll stay one more year imo
  3. Really nice that. this shirt with slightly wider stripes in black and white is the shirt adidas never made for us in 15 years! cunts
  4. why do you have to start almost every post you make on football with stuff like "what a load of nonsense"?
  5. well, fuck you both shift is for losers btw
  6. 100% pointless trying to compare across generations anyway as they'll never compete with each other messi is the best on the planet now, that's as much as you can really say with any conviction
  7. how do you envisage that working then, in football terms? he'd be another sheva imo totally the wrong type of team for that type of player I would congratulate you if you stopped persistently using "he he" fuck off persistently, no way man, no way no how
  8. sorry where did i miss this not all going on players now? thought pardew was explicit in saying that? When Carroll was sold Pardew said the money would be spent on the first team. A few weeks later he mentioned in a press conference that spending the money would also cover, wages and other costs (like Tiote's new contract I would imagine). Recently the line (from Llambias) is that the money will 'stay in the club' - hardly surprising when Ashley's never taken a penny out etc. The discussion here is whether or not it would be fine for the £35m to disappear into general running costs or whether it should be invested directly into the first team; namely on new signings this summer. And whether or not Pardew can be believed anyway. hm, so basically people pouring over the word for word content of pardew and delboys statements trying to read things into it ok
  9. oh I'm sorry Oscar Wilde, should I have said it a different way? ashley apologist
  10. sorry where did i miss this not all going on players now? thought pardew was explicit in saying that?
  11. is there a person on here who'd argue that the club should be investing as a minimum a net spend on players every year? if there is i've yet to come across them
  12. hardly financial restraint, more so that i don't own a new ferrari cos i can't afford one. sorry, i put that down wrong - i meant i 'like' the people who spout the "preaching financial restraint", in terms of they talk a load of shit
  13. i like all the "preaching financial restraint" people me like
  14. won't satisfy people on this and other similar internet boards, in real life most people will just keep going to the match 9 months is a long time to stay hot and bothered about carroll for most people
  15. isn't it supposed to be more about how these greats won the world cup "almost single-handedly" (especially in the case of maradona and slightly less so zidane) this is why the world cup is talked about in this discussion, not just the fact they hold a medal for being there al a (fat) ronaldo circa 1994 iirc, but fat ronaldo circa 2002 basically won them that world cup
  16. he he, my comments on Torres to Chelski: how do you envisage that working then, in football terms? he'd be another sheva imo totally the wrong type of team for that type of player
  17. ronaldo would make it all about ronaldo, probably stand with hands on hips while barca pass the ball to each other and score great team goals
  18. to be fair he carries the weight of his own ego every game, which is probably something that should be considered
  19. saw Tony Adams and his bairns here in Baku a couple of days ago - was gonna go and say alreet then i remembered lee dixon getting ginola sent off and thought "fuck him"
