The Cabaye decision was understandable to me, as I never expected him to finish the game. It was the fact he a) took Marveaux off b) took a perfectly fit Marveaux off before the unfit Cabaye.
-
He's already explained his rationale for taking Marveaux off, we needed a 'tackle' as they were apparently 'bossing' it all second half. Even if it was for Le Fondre, he's no bloody good man, we're at home to Reading and already playing a defensive midfielder, if they were about to start going for it then that could have left more space for us to capitalise on. Which ever way you look at it, it was a cowardly, illogical and stupid decision.
-
There were just enough options yesterday for him to not start, but he gets played as a right winger. Even Ryan Taylor said he can't play full matches as well. Really poor management.
-
He's not going to convince anyone that he simply told the team to carry on doing what they were, at half time. No subs came out, which presumably means he was giving them all the spiel about how important the result was for us and as a consequence, we couldn't afford to concede in such a game, so we must keep tight. If he cared about scoring goals and being positive, he would have either taken Shola or Jonas off and put Marveaux in their spot. He couldn't even properly admit the Marveaux substitution was wrong, all he said was it 'might' have been the wrong decision.

As if Ba hadn't missed some great chances this year either. Moronic post.
-
Watching the game again, and they were definitely posing no threat at all before Marveux went off. An utterly shit and embarrassing decision.
-
This. Very poor for that first.
-
Depressing watching teams go for it, instead of being spineless c***s. Eurgh, that's irked me more than anything today
-
It's what we need, a bit of a bastard to get the team going. There are too many shirkers right now, good when things are rosy but hide when we're in the shit. You could see Cabaye's drive was infectious for other players.
-
Got to agree with that. He exuded confidence and seemed like he wanted to pull the team forward.
-
One of his other great assets is that he's a very good leader, he's the type of player you want in the position we're in, we don't have enough right now. Really hope we get this through, still nowhere confident though.
-
Too slow for the first.
-
I think the push for M'Biwa suggests he'll be off and we're preparing for life without him. If not now, definitely in the summer.
-
The balance of it was fantastic. We've found it tough to break teams down this year, so it was fairly impressive that we got through a very defensive Reading a few times, that's the highest amount of clear cut chances we've created for a long time. One of the few positives I've taken from today, and something that gives me a shred of hope.
-
Should never come off at home to shite teams unless it's massively obvious we've killed the other team off. They were scared of him, you could see they were happier to push up when he went off.
-
I don't believe his waffle about telling them to do the same thing at half time. This bloke tried to convince us we played 4-3-3 against Swansea when we very obviously did no such thing.
-
Also the fact he played more on the wing in that second half is a joke, his movement was brilliant in the first and he looked very threatening.
-
He looked pretty annoyed during the last 10 minutes and at the final whistle. No wonder, his boss is a clown.
-
We need him in for some feel good factor around the club.

I'd play as we did for the majority of today, just without Shola and Williamson starting. Krul Debuchy Taylor Colo Santon Anita Cabaye Marveaux Gutierrez Cisse Obertan If he is to start Shola, please do this Alan. Anita Cabaye Jonas Marveaux Cisse Shola I think we can get a result here, as long as we're positive in our approach. -
He played well, we got to see some of his attacking exploits.
-
2 of his chances were cracking saves. That low Debuchy cross was a lot more difficult than it looked, their 'keeper was out like a shot.
-
Great first half, even with our dysfunctional wingers, we still created a lot, and the structure of the midfield was really perfect. Anita sat in front of the defence well and sprayed the ball about, with Cabaye and Marveaux ahead of him working their magic. We should have been at least 2 up by half time, but I thought their keeper made 2 excellent saves in particular. Second half was atrocious. They were never in the game until that embarrassing substitution, so I don't buy any of this bull about us needing a tackle in the middle, but why even take Marveaux off? Considering he's actually fit. We shouldn't ever think about shutting up shop while 1 up at home, it's a game that is so rarely won by a team. Jonas and Shola finishing the game says it all. We do need some players in, but we also need a manager that actually believes in the players he has.

How the fuck he lasted 90 minutes is beyond me. -
Played much better in a 3 man midfield, shock horror. Hope his injury isn't too serious.
