  1. Sounds like a horrific injury Best of luck to the lad in his recovery

I wouldnt say it has pacified me but what more can we do? I have had enough of checking the internet every day hoping for good news - only to be let down. I have had enough of people like Thomo and Redheugh coming on here wanking off at getting people's hopes up. So now that we have reached the end of the transfer window, the squad wont change now until at least January. Ashley will sell the club when its 100% perfect for him and his needs. We shouldnt think he will do anything for the benefit of the fans. It will be for the good of Mike Ashley and Mike Ashley alone. No one can change things so all we are left with is the season ahead. I had enough of getting beat week in week out last season so now, even if its short term in a lower division, I am going to enjoy seeing NUFC score more goals than the opposition. For teams like NUFC, we have to take our pleasures as and when we can so I am not going to miss this one
  3. Pretty sure Watson was 16 when he made his debut. Correct. who could forget that throw-in tbh

If the benefit is him selling a Premiership club for a higher value then I am prepared to wait for that to happen. Win/win situation then
  5. Neither had Hughton, you may be onto something. Difference is though that Hughton didnt actively choose to be in the hot seat therefore the drive and ambition to succeed is different. Any manager who lands in the "Caretaker" role should never take the job on full time.
  6. This isnt meant to provoke another of "those" arguments but Kevin Keegan had never managed anywhere prior to taking charge of us.

For the first time in a while, I am actually looking forward to putting this to the back of my mind in favour of the actual football. The playing side of things has settled (as much as is possible anyway) and the players appear to be playing for Hughton so I just want to enjoy the matches for a change. As far as the sale of the club goes, what will be will be so we may as well just let it run its course.
  8. Not in the slightest. Coppell had 1 go at a"big" club many year ago at Man City and lasted a very short space of time, claiming the stress was too much. That should instantly rule him out of the job at our place - he just wont be able to cope. Curbishley is a decent guy but has always struck me as a guy, again, more suited to a smaller, less "pressure-cooker" type club a-la Charlton. I am not sure he has the ability to push NUFC on. He tried to push himself on at West Ham and it didnt really happen for him but I appreciate that that was probably more to do with what was going on in the bakground at the club at the time. EDIT : My choice would have been Martinez but we missed the boat with him unfortunately
  9. Interesting suggestion. Maybe a bit too soon at the moment but maybe in a few years
  10. For me Shearer appears to be the best option possible. I don't think I have heard any other name mentioned that has made me think "yeah... go for him". Mind, he shouldnt come anywhere near the place while Ashley is around. We cant afford to have the small amount of stability we appear to have found, ruined by a change of management.
  11. Is that the dick that sits there with multiple mobile phones and pretends to be taking calls from all sorts of agents ?
  12. This ones for you Pilko but you can just imagine its like the "Cape Fear" episode of the Simpsons. Hughton will have Ashley sat at a table and no matter how many times he stamps on his feet and tells him to sign someone, Ashley turns to Llambias and says "I think he's talking to you"
  13. We should be used to nothing happening by now
  14. I am sure he said that about us this time last year. What do you know... fuck all was going on

I don't know if it's a wind up or not.. he could well know whats going on. He's still acting like a prick though. After all the Thomo shite, I am not sure why anyone believes anything any more. Just wait until it happens man
  16. After all the shite that we have endured over the last 12 months, I think we are allowed to enjoy something like that for as long as it lasts.

The on-going sale may still be helping the players and coaching staff bond and stay together. A sale may end that - which is a bizarre thought
