  1. How the fuck can anyone defend this bloke, man.
  2. and how much the PL don't. Unless they are ok with the deal but are holding out as long as possible for some for a massive sweetener for themselves, my fear is that they are never going to back down.
  3. This is where I am. I was convinced nothing was going on. Clearly something has. I'm very happy to say that I was wrong about that. However, what and to what extent remains to be confirmed. No one from the consortium has spoken. All we have (unless i've missed something) is what Caulkin has relayed (the optimism from him I find mystifying) and from proven liar and bullshitter Mike Ashley. There are still so many questions about what, exactly, has happened since the 'withdrawal'.
  4. Next tweet: “do you think this is crucial to the takeover?” Douglas: “don’t think it’ll have any impact” So why is it interesting news? Why are you tweeting about it? MoneyMikeAshley knows and said it yesterday. CLIKC CLICK CLICK
  5. I know the feeling. I'll try again though for the lolz. Genuine question. Why do you think the PL haven't simply rejected it if it's so cut and dry and the PIF and SA are the same entity ?
  6. Can you link a few of these legal opinions? I know the guy the NUST hired to write to the Premier League attempted to make that argument, haven't seen any others? https://www.footballlaw.co.uk/articles/newcastle-united-fc-takeover-and-the-premier-leagues-owners-and-directors-test That is the NUST guy. But all he offers is: "∆ On 2 June 2020 Qatari- and Saudi- based lawyers provided confirmation to this author that KSA PIF is a separate legal entity." Which is a) a worthless and vague piece of information and b) tells us nothing about the independence of the PIF, which is the crux of the matter. No-one who wasn't under the pay or the influence of the Saudis would ever try and make the argument that the PIF is operationally independent of the government of KSA. Do you have to hand, the information (from the Qatar and Saudi lawyers) that he did?
  7. Can you like a few of these legal opinions? I know the guy the NUST hired to write to the Premier League attempted to make that argument, haven't seen any others? You'll get the links if you are prepared to offer an opinion as to why you think the PL haven't simply rejected it if it's as cut and dried as you say. I'm not disagreeing with you btw.
  8. Feels like he's turning us into Burnley 2.0
  9. This is what I was just thinking. I wish I'd never fucking heard another thing about it. Now I'm just gutted/pissed off all over again. I think I must have missed the part about it being Tuesday specifically but the information that's come out this week has been so confusing, i'm not yet convinced it was ever genuinely close.
  10. So Ashley picks a fight with the PL Steve Bruce the next day says it's dead in the water. NUFC360 is evidence that some fans are back onside. Well played Mike, well played.
  11. So much for being just a twitter feed that collates all the online articles. What a fucking wanker.
  12. I agree. The only thing that is niggling me is when Caulkin is saying that they all felt it was going to be passed by the PL this week? I would love to know where that optimism comes from because it seems clear that the PL do not want to pass it. If the Government pressure is legit, it probably came from that. I do believe the Government pressure is legit but why would you have any optimism unless it was from the PL. Really naive if they've assumed it's all sorted because the Government is involved. As other say, it's all just so weird.

  14. Can the government force them to either "Reject or Approve" rather than just sit on their hands ? It definitely isn't right that the PL can just sit and do nothing and get away with it.
  15. As that Money Mike Ashley feed has always just been a piss take feed and never at any time used for wind ups or ITK, that 2nd tweet is bizarre and intriguing in equal measure. There's no basis to believe it at all; just have to tell myself it's just more Twitter bollocks. As you say Charlies[/member] , cant help but lean towards thinking it's him The whole feed is a work of genius
  16. Of course, you're right. I'm just finding it frustrating that even after "Takeover 1.0" the buyers seem to be believing something that they are being told by the PL (or someone) that is allowing them to believe it's close. I've yet to pick up any vibe from the PL that it's nearly a done deal.
  17. I was going to ask if you'd think he'd be so negligent to sanction the spending prior to the deal going through... then i remembered how he bought the club in the first place
  18. This is pissing me right off now. Why is he saying (again) that they thought approval would come this week when from what I can see, the PL don't appear anywhere close to approving it. What information does he, the club, and the consortium have that have given them that impression ?
  19. Why would he need to do that? The PL have already given him the perfect excuse for staying on and running us on a shoestring budget. If he says nothing he's already £17 million up from where he started before the takeover bid. Not really sure what your logic is there. It's a perfect excuse for if things go pear shaped this season for him to purely blame the PL for everything now instead of his abysmal running of a club, last night's statement was reinforces that now. Pretty much, not to mention he's also publicly aligned with the fans over perceived failings in how the Premier League have handled it all, which has gone down a storm, at least on social media The ultimate Bishop PR masterstroke ? What? Do you think he secretly had a deal with the PL to reject the bid so he could continue to own the club and run it badly? Was tongue in cheek but no, the comment wasn't about a deal with the PL, more at the thought that he's used the situation to get the fans back on his side and to make the PL the bad guys.

  21. I thought we saw Tweets (was it Craig Hope?) yesterday that said the PL had formally rejected it Fucking hell, man. What a shitshow
