I say trust Rooneys abilities and play 4-5-1. There are more goals in our midfield than in Heskey, and like you say, todays Rooney don't need a Heskey (though to be honest, I'm not sure he ever did). I'd line up something like Green Johnson Ferdinand Terry Cole Carrick Lampard Lennon Gerrard Cole Rooney If J. Cole and Gerrard finds some form in the months leading up to the WC. That would be so sweet

Fabio knows, but do you? The central midfielders...

Surely Milner over Barry/Carrick, especially this season. -
West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Exactly. He's technically still a 'hot prospect for the future'. He's doing bloody well for his age. Still got 5 years till peak age aswell pretty much. Beckford is 26 now. Would rather have Carroll and Ranger. -

I wonder how many people would have picked Bridge if his name hadn't been mentioned non-stop for the last week. The guys been rubbish, no way he should go. -

You fucking mad? He's our best defender. -
John Terry loses England captaincy, Ferdinand gets it

How do we know that he wasn't shagging her when she was still with Bridge? You honestly reckon he doesn't give a f*** that a team mate knocked up the mother of his child on the sly? I think it's abou time Terry was held to account for his actions, the place in the team should be on merit but I think it was spot on to strip him of the captaincy in this instance. Fair enough. But he will be in the squad anyway, and hopefully in the first team, acting in the same way as he always should - a captain. IMO it was either leave him with the captaincy or chuck him out altogether. Not fanny about in the middle. -

I still don't really understand the fuss about this. Wayne Bridge wasn't seeing her at the time. She was his ex. Does that mean I can't see anyone who's ever had a boyfriend before? Does Wayne Bridge really give as fuck? I'd like to hear if he did. -
Apparently so.... http://www.mysalary.co.uk/average-salary/Train_Driver_3139 "Many drivers earn in the region of £70k with overtime, particularly at Intercity or freight depots." Reet that's it I'm changing jobs! Can't see how they can count overtime in salary. That's like saying a cleaner earns £30k a year (on a basic of £10k a year and £20k a year overtime pay if they work every hour of every day). That website is so incredibly unreliable. Has about 4 entries for maths teachers with salaries ranging from 10k-35k for the same job.

Covering it on 5 Live atm on the Stephen Nolan show. Had two guys arguing over the phone, one said 'YOU'RE PROBABLY A LINCOLN CITY FAN YOU'RE USED TO LOSING' then got cut off. Excellent stuff. -

People (Ronaldo) keep writing Carroll off and then he comes and scores two. Quite annoying really. He's only 21 ffs. Still a prospect and it's only because he's treated as a first teamer that he gets negative press. That and glassing folk in the face. and GET IN LOVEN -
Read his biography,an unbelievably sad tale of one of the all time football greats. Recommend people read the wikipedia page, quite impressive yet very sad.

I think he's good but I get the feeling since Livingston loaned him out to stirling albion (gash team) aged 22 he's not rated too highly. Has a good shot (like god striking it himself), good delivery, good passing. Wouldn't have minded if we bought him for the wing but I don't think he's ready to step up to the premiership quite yet... He's a bit of a legend around here for scoring outrageous goals against celtic (was a while ago now so may be wrong).

TaylorJ_01 replied to Skirge's topic in Football
I thought Carroll done alright against Leicester. I only seen the first half, but he won pretty much everything and it had some direction. He also scored two against WBA the other week so I don't see the criticism. He isn't perfect but him alongside Lovenkrands is surely going to get us goals. Best in the starting line-up? Not sure about that. -

Don't think he's better than Ranger really. Not that I particularly rate Ranger, it just means it's a pointless addition to the bottom of the pecking order. Ah well, hope he proves us wrong.
