  1. Man City haver really shot themselves in the foot with this Kaka bid, not that they'll mind but prices will rocket anytime they come sniffing, also morale will be fucked at City- they're gonna fall apart eventually, hopefully. If they carry on going for the world stars then after this bid no ones going to want to sell for anything less than the current world record.
  2. ha ha, go have a word with yourself mate. Nobody expected him to win anything with NUFC but he would have given us much needed stability AND have us playing half decent football. And i'll tell you summik about man city, did he not get them promoted? Did he not stabalise their prem status, with little funds? Did he not get Fulham promoted and stabalise their prem status. Did he not save us from the third division and then won promotion the next season, THEN after that storming to a thrid place finish in the prem with us? DID HE NOT BUILD THE BEST NUFC SIDE THAT ANYONE ON HERE HAS EVER SEEN? Last season did he also not find a way to play Owen, Martins and Viduka in the same team and have them scoring goals, while the self acclaimed tactical genius of Allerdyce struggled to get the ball to any of them. Seriously man, stop having a pop at one of the best managers we've had at this club when you look at the knackers which have come and gone since. Souness, Allerdyce, Roeder, Fuckingkinnear. Ahh yes, the old 15 years ago achievement routine. Classic. Ahhh yes ignoring facts and history again to bend a twist an argument. Did he or did he not find a way to play Martins, Viduka and Owen AND have them scoring goals? Did Allerdyce have the same 3 players scoring goals? Erm, NO. Sorry like but some of you people having a pop at KK need to have a word with yourselves. By no means was he perfect but I know who I'd rather have as manager over the plebs which have been here in recent years. Feel free to read the edit made to your original post. Its not me who's twisting history, just pointing out that his most notable achievment at any club was 15 years ago. He did great things for this club, but he gets afforded far more credit than he deserves in a footballing context - i perfectly understand his affiliation with newcastle and know why he's held in high regard but when it comes to judgin him as manager - he was nothing special. YOUr f***ing insane. 1st, 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 2nd,......nothing special.... No, nothing special it terms of other managerial achievments. If he didnt quit the 1st (2nd ) time round i firmly believe he could of been one of the best managers out there, possiliby up there with Wenger and Fergie, could of built a true dynasty here. He was never going to be able to build a dynasty here, once the Halls decided to float NUFC it was clear he was going to have to flog players to bring players in. Thats no way run a top side. KK was having none of it. [/quote You think? I dont know the implications of turinign to a PLC but i dont see what he'd of had to do that most managers out there havent done in the past, isnt that pasrt and parcel of being a great manager? The thing is though, that we ended up being finanacially stronger in years to come. do you not think Keegan would of thrived with the fiannaces that the others managers recieved?

And i'll tell you summik about man city, did he not get them promoted? Did he not stabalise their prem status, with little funds? Actually he had some decent finds and didnt really do much with then. They fought relegation pretty much every season. Did he not get Fulham promoted and stabalise their prem status. Actually, he got them promoted but left for the England job Did he not save us from the third division and then won promotion the next season, THEN after that storming to a thrid place finish in the prem with us? Yes, 17 years ago. DID HE NOT BUILD THE BEST NUFC SIDE THAT ANYONE ON HERE HAS EVER SEEN? Yes Last season did he also not find a way to play Owen, Martins and Viduka in the same team and have them scoring goals, while the self acclaimed tactical genius of Allerdyce struggled to get the ball to any of them. So? Seriously man, stop having a pop at one of the best managers we've had at this club when you look at the knackers which have come and gone since. Souness, Allerdyce, Roeder, Fuckingkinnear. 6. Maybe he's lying. Can anyone pinpoint any truths that this man has said? Well when he's talking about what upstairs are doing, they would correct him in public if he was speaking shit... but oh wait we are NUFC they don't communicate with us. ..Its bound to be true, we aren't that lucky. Even if it was a ploy to breed resemblences of stability?
  7. Maybe he's lying. Can anyone pinpoint any truths that this man has said?
  8. They'd probably play Kompany at CB. Talk of them offloading Dunne. Kompany would be fine at CB. Would anyone take Dunne?
  9. Why hasnt there been anything offical about the contract offer to Jose?
  10. This whole thing is baffling, i really cant work out Jose at all, everything he says in the press is set off with the intial rant he had when he came in, its the one thing thats stopping me from dirifitng onto the other side of the fence. Im praying its an elaborate game, but the signs arent great. The tide is definitely turning with me, as someones said earlier, some very similar things were heard before Keegan left. Not a good omen.
  11. If people views are so solidly set into the notion that Ashley wants midtable mediocrity and nothing else and is unwilling to spend money - then how come we signed Colo instead of a cheaper player. Why sign Enrique instead of someone much cheaper? Why Barton instead of a cheaper player? Why even entertain the notion of wanting to sign Modric instead of a cheaper player? Why go for Woodgate when we could of had cheaper? Why try for MBia when there are cheaper out there? i dont understadn Ashleys logic if all he wants to do is make the club crap - his actions dont fully back up this simplistic view.
  12. as I said, you have changed your server. In actual fact, why not ask people now, if they think Gartside is better than Shepherd, in fact, ask how many other chairmen anywhere have run better football clubs than Shepherd ? Where does this persecution delusion come from? You'll be telling us next that everybody appreciated having a team qualifying regularly for europe and didn't demand the fat bastard out and spent millions on new players almost every time the team lost a game. So whats your point? You want people to appreciate Shepherd? You want people to hold a candle to him? Is that your mission ? Most people recognise the good job he did, however they also recognise the bad job he did, imagine if he appointed Souness after Keegan? Would we be giving him the praise you think he deserves? Feel free to not reply to this directly. you've been watching too many yank movies fredbob. I think far too many people take far too much notice of Louise Taylor by the way, falling right into what she wants ........ You're having one there NE5. "Yank movie"?? What are you on about?? Since when has the word "mission"been an american english word? since you wore short pants, and Newcastle United were run by people who thought staying in the top league was success ? Are you backwards? I guess that explains your views on the club. the sad thing is, you just don't understand do you ? You REALLY think a football club can be successful on sports direct type prices ? Fuck me, and you give me giref about my english. All along i thought i was talking to someone who understood english, no wonder you never understand what anyone says and misinterpret everything. I'd ask you to point where ive specifically said that Newcastle United can be successful by not spending anything, i spent the beginning of the summer saying how much faith i had in Ashley openeing his wallet for fucks sake. What a muppet you are. I really can't decide if you're a poor WUM or thick fredbob. Suffice to say, this time last year, you were fully supporting the direction of the club and lack of investment in players to strengthen the team, despite myself and [only] one or two others telling you how it was all going so wrong. What do you think now ? If you cant decide then that would make me a good one, no? The irony continues I'm the thick one yet you dont know if the word mission is english? Would you of given Allardyce a bulk of money? And what does that say about my views on our transfer policy? Feel free to ignore this post, I couldnt quite work you out but now its 100% clear you're not worth the reply. Wow .... See your phrase "would you of given Allardyce a bulk of money".....you don't understand you're own phrase do you ? Your question is really "would you give your own managerial appointment backing", and the answer is of course, otherwise why would you appoint him in the first place Fucking hell, where do i start? Nope, my question is "Would you of given Allardyce a bulk of money?" I understand the question, thats why i asked it. Feel free to answer your own questions though, this is a new low, even for you - changing my questions! As for the answer to your own question - re read it. Spot the mistake, the bit where your entire point falls down. NE5 has evolved his debating skills to new levels - asking himself his own questions and answering his own questions for the benefit of others.
  13. The thing i dont understand, is why people are acting like this is the first season we've been in a relegation battle and how therefore accountability lies directly with Ashley, its as though, Ashley IS the reason why we're in show much trouble compeltely disregarding how we were in trouble before he took over. His regime certaily hasnt curtailed the rot, but he certainly didnt start it.
  14. What a load of horseshit. Given's stuck about for years of shite, more than any other player in recent history. Keegan walked twice when the going got tough and tried to quit more times than you've got fingers in his 1st spell. How did the going get tough? We had a bit of a bad run the first time but had just hammered Spurs 7-1, and this season started off quite well by getting that point at Old Trafford. As to me when people say 'when the going got tough' that means on the pitch. Well things certainly weren't tough on the pitch so he can't be accused of going for those reasons. Why did he leave in your view? First time around because promises were broken and things changed after the PLC came in. And second time around he felt his position had become untenable. That's basically what I feel in a nutshell. Although I still think he was burnt-out as well the first time he left, I think signing Shearer certainly re-ignited a spark in him for a bit, but I do feel he was burnt-out. Aye, heard he admitted that he couldnt motivate his players in the same way he used to, Im sure he regrets that decision in hindsight, it was his one major oppurtunity to build a Fergie style dynasty at this club. Could of made himself into one of the best managers around.
  15. Podolskis repuatations precedes him, he looks great at international level, id place him on the same level as Martins in terms of reputation and calibre of player.

  17. It's a pity Leeds had a clause in his contract which gave them 50% of the profit above the £5 million we paid to them for him. Also, Schwiensteiger was supposedly on his way and where did the Colo money come from? Theres about £3m missing from the Milner transfer, if that.
  18. God I wish I lived in your world. Is it full of cute kittens and fluffy clouds. Everyones on the inside track except me it seems. £10m would be a significant investment for a Jan window for this club.
  19. Said this before, think he'd be a good captain, although there are disadvantages to this, like would theplayers resent playing under his leadership, think giving him the armband would settle him as a player and a person, its his to lose that way. Does remind me alot to Roy Keane, only not as good.
  20. Very excited by the M'Bia news, he certainly didnt rule it out unless there are other offers on the table for him. Also very impressive news about the youngsters coming on board. I'm sure Jose is bluffing, theres money to spend, he's just being 'clever' with it.
  21. What? Shearer/Bellamy vs. some striker combo that just doesn't work particularly well? Robert vs. whatever winger we have who can't shoot or pass (all of them), our current spineless midfield vs Gary Speed in combination with Jenas, Dyer, Bowyer, and so on? That's a team with a hell of a lot more fight in them, and many many more goals. The current team wouldn't stand a chance. All we have is a theoretically better back 4, injuries permitting. In reality, the current team has let in 37 goals so far this season, whereas Woodgate et al conceded 40 in total the whole season. We may have a first team that may look better on paper, if you disregard the fact that we don't have a single player who can shoot from outside the box, not a single player with decent off the ball movement, not a single player with any aggression up front, no one to hold up the ball, and no one to go on runs so that the ball can be successfully laid off again. We've got a bunch of decent players, but our first team is shit. I can only judge the team on indivisdual merit. We had a fantqastically balanced side in 04 but i do think there are some quality players here. Bellamy vs Martins Shearer vs Owen Jonas vs Solano Zog vs Robert Speed vs Barton Guthrie vs Jenas/Dyer Colo vs Woodgate Bassong vs Bramble etc etc If we had a proper manager we'd be doing fine.
  22. Am i reading this right? You want to risk the future of the club just to force out the man who could change it all, even though he;s given us the best first team in 5 years? Yet we're in our worst position as a club since gaining promotion in 1993. So its isnt the best first team we've had in 5 years? Is that what you're saying? No because it's not better than the team we had in 2004. Id say it was mighty close, closer than it has been for 4 years at least. Point pretty much stands still. How does your point still stand when it isn't even the best for 5 years? Best in 4 years then? January 05, the window we signed Boumsong and Babayaro. Id still argue that this first team would give the SBR 04 team a run for its money. My opinion anyway. Gerraway man you can't change your argument like that. What? Are you having one? The argument is the same its the timescale thats changed. If we hadnt improved our squad after Roeder i would be worried, if we hadnt improved our squad even further after Allardyce id be on your side, but we have, we improved our team continually throuoghout the reguime, its only people like you who dont want to acknowledge that. I dont understand why. Its emphtaic proof that he's doing good things for the club. albeit with one monstrous mistake, appointing Keegan.

The problem is since the Bobby Robson era the rest of the league has improved and progressed while our continuous conveyer-belt of managers have continued to tare apart the spine of the squad and attempted to build from scratch resulting in little if not no progress. Absolutely, dont disagree with you for one second, thats why i think we're so close, just the right manin charge and we're set to go.
