  1. The commentator on NUFCtv's coverage of the PSV game strongly hinted that Smith wasn't in the lineup because he's on his way to Everton.

What did he say? Had the sound off as it's stuttering like f***.

Just put this in the match thread as well, but when he was going through the lineup he mentioned that Smith wasn't there and then immediately mentioned that it's being reported that he's off to Everton, or something of the like. I don't know where he got his information, but I'm hopeful.

  2. I'm happy with this game. The quality of the picture on nufcTV is great.

Highlight of the game: the commentator saying that Smith wasn't in the lineup because he was linked to Everton. Also the confirmation that Coloccini was having a medical today.

No, really. Did he say that? Smith? Coloccini?

When he was going through the lineup, he said something along the lines of "No Smith in the lineup. Of course there are reports that he's on his way to Everton."

Towards the end of the match he said that Coloccini was in Newcastle having his medical and that the deal should be announced soon.

At least that's what I heard.

  3. lets be honest, we're getting a f***ing by manu & arsenal anyways

what we have to avoid at all costs is making an arse of the bolton & hull games...if we come out of the first 4 games with 6 points  it'll be no less than what i'd have expected without injuries or a s*** pre-season, plus we'll have the added bonus of seeing the back of 2 of the hardest away games in the league

come out of the first four games with 1-4 points and it looks a hell of a lot worse

personally i think 6 points is exactly what we'll get

I agree with this. ManU and Arsenal away are games that I don't expect us to win at any rate. But our defenders haven't been playing poorly, and we're getting Coloccini in this week, so maybe our back four can stop the onslaught and at least get us out of those two games without a huge goal difference deficit.

  4. KEVIN Keegan has made three changes from the side which was beaten by Hertha Berlin here at the ONO Estadi on Friday night.

Shola Ameobi has a slight hamstring problem and misses out while Nicky Butt and Charles N'Zogbia do not figure.

In comes French defender Sebastien Bassong, David Edgar and Damien Duff.

It looks like the Magpies could line up with a back four of Taylor, Cacapa, Bassong and Enrique, with Geremi, Guthrie, Edgar and Duff forming a midfield four and Milner and Smith up front.

I hope this isn't anything like the team we put out during the actual season.
