  1. The way things are going, we will be lucky to finish in the top six. But, as an "AIM" (objective) ir is PATHETIC. More pathetic than that though, is the increasing (er) 'realisation and acceptance' by fans on here as something as pathetic as that as being "realistic' and 'high enough'. For goodness sake - if you aim low ("top six") you will achieve EVEN LOWER. Does your own experience of your own life not already tell you that?? Keegan for sure wont aim low, 1,3,6,2,2 Most people on here will attack me (and you) for saying that. They will say - "the best we can hope for - realistically - (fabulous word) is Top Six" "Get real" - they will say, in happy unison . . Errr, except, well, noone did? Sadly, I am not just talking about this one thread. Then what are you talking about? Because i'm f***ed if I know. I am getting tired about having to repeat this, but I will. "Aim LOW and you will ALWAYS achieve even LOWER" Thats life. OK?
  2. Compared to the Ronnie, the Standard is a major newspaper. Having lived in Cockneyland for many (many) years - I am aware that it is an even worse local than the Chronicle. A "major" newspaper - oh for goodness sake!!!! Didn't mean "good" - I meant widely read. (By more people who count in the context of his business) There are more people living in the London area than there are living in the Newcastle area. It is still the most awful 'local' (parochial) little rag that I have ever eaten fish and chips out of. It thinks it is a 'national' though (because it is printed in Cockneyland) - and some others seem to think so too!!!! Bizarre . . . What's wrong with the Evening standard? Briefly . . . (1) Its content. (2) Its obsesssional parochiality (worse than most locals even). (3) Its "pretentions" (which may well have worked on you!!) Your talking out your arse. It's a very good London paper and it is a great waste of energy to have these faux media wars. Media companies are worth billions and have immense power. The clever thing is to manage how you deal with them and improve the way the portray the club in a positive manner. Ashley isn't very good at this to this point, but he needs to understand this. Football clubs aren't like discount garment shops. Oh dear. You epitomise the London-obsessed BRAINWASHING that goes on in this country. It is a grotty insular little rag that (lord be praised) happens to come from (lord be praised again) L O N D O N. Braninwashing is very powerful - most of the brainwashed do not know that they are . . . Oh dear indeed. We agree then!!! No. But that's the fun. At some point we're going to have to cut deals with the London media as I'm sure you realise. For me the club is a brand with world wide potential and part of that project will include taking the media with us. The parochial London Media (working for the so called 'Nationals') YES. A local rag for cockneyland - NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. That seems to be the case. I get upset with 'many' who accept that this is ok. Not long ago I did not know anyone who accepted that. Now (on here anyway) you have to talk with acceptence of mediocrity on here, otherwise you are cast as a fool.

  9. BUT - on this board nowadays - it IS. It is the only attitude that is acceptable on here. If you do not accept total mediocrity on here, you are attacked mercilessly, by moderators and everybody. It is so frustrating! actually, manor park, I said i didnt undestand your post. I thought you were making a completly diffrent point. i agree with you and the points of your last post 100% Thanks mate. We are pretty much alone on here.
  10. Thanks Dave. Sadly, these days, you seem to be part of that group.

  13. dont fully understand your post. are you saying no-one wants to sign for us?, i dont agree with that, we have already signed onebody, and i expect at least2/3 more before end of window. No one wanting to sign for us (obviously) is 'part' of my post! You say someone has signed for us - yes I know. BUT - who is he - and did we beat Manchester Utd and Real Madrid to his signature? Who is he??? But, my main point is the fact that "Taylor targets pre-planned failure" is deemed an appropriate title for a thread on here!!! Bizzare The TOTAL acceptence of mediocrity is bizarre (go on - bend over!) I agree . . .

  16. "people from Newcastle, not some cave in afghanistan"? sounds a bit of a dodgy quote to me! Why would Ashley tell a local paper in the London area anything? If he was going to talk to a local paper it would be the "Newcastle Evening Chronicle" not the jellied-eeels "London Evening Standard" Grief!!! it was part of a wider thing to do with sports worlds results. on that note i understand his holding is up to 72% But, why would he speak to a L O C A L evening rag in London?? His company is based in London. He lives in London. Just a thought. Plus who in their right mind would want to talk to Oliver I agree about Oliver!! BUT, if he wants to talk to a LOCAL paper (about Newcastle United) he would not talk to a local from way down there. He would talk to the nationals, or to a local here in Newcastle. Some people (who quote from it) do not realise that the Jellied Eeels Standard, is a LOCAL RAG (because it is based down there!!) . . . .

  20. "Taylor targets pre-planned failure" So many people on here agree with him. I am just a dinasaur. (KKs end-of-season outburst has convinced many of our "Rational/Realistic" (sensible) supprters that "nothingness" is the best we can EVER hope for.) Why do you think think that "no-one" wants to sign for us now? Difficult question. C'mon - get stuck in - attack me (go on).
  21. says the man with a picture of smith as his avatar owen has proved himself as a player whenever he's been fit, but therein lies the main problem. i agree wages of a 120 are outrageous, but we'll struggle to get anyone in who has even half his talent Its obvious that judging from your thick skull you have no idea that Michael Owen is made of glass. I want Michael Owen out due to many reasons, including the fact that he is bigger than the club. /quote] How awful it must be to actually think and believe that.
  22. Agreed - though its not even a question of 'staying clear' - it is just not an option, because he left us for a particular reason (nothing to do with football) and that has seemingly not changed.
  23. His family reasons were genuine. Dyers 'family reasons' seemed manufactured, to me. Lets not mix up the two very different people and situations.
  24. He only left for one reason. So, has his family situation changed then? If not, why are we even talking about this?
