  1. could've at least used a picture of Stone Cold ET
  2. Don't be such a Nancy. Not even a Lille bit funny. I wouldn't be Sochaux about that.
  3. Would be ideal scenario although is it paramount that the manager is French? especially with the troubles players like Ben Arfa have had in the past. What i'm getting at is french people don't seem to like french people aye but I'm factoring in what seems to be happening at the minute. If there's another talented manager out there, who at least speaks some French we could appoint him. Couldn't see any English manager accepting such a role though, especially clowns like Mark Hughes. Keegan and Curbishley have also walked in similar circumstances. Ben Arfa could have walked in any circumstance in all honesty. We've been lucky in a sense that he's not kicked off at Pardew.
  4. discussing this with ThreatLevel on twitter at the minute. The way I see it: Apparent recruitment drive in France with Carr ---> Manager has little say in incomings ---> pretty much a head coach/DoF setup ---> Find French/French-speaking manager who is available (one that's taken relegation fodder to a respectable mid-table position probably) ---> Inform him that this is the way things work. He will have a little say but is primarily a head coach to work with what he's given. We will also be likely to sell and replace when high-end bids come in ---> New tactical imputes for the team while also being able to engage/man-manage the majority of the squad. Essentially a French Steve Clarke. Only way I could see us getting "better" would be to sack off Graham Carr and give the manager full control, which I can't see us doing at all.
  5. aye both are awful phone-ins. The only one worth listening to is Total Sport a) because it's only focussed towards ourselves and the mackems and b) their ex-pro/"professional" opinions come from someone that watches us week in, week out.
  6. Neville >>>> Ed Chamberlain >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Redknapp.
  7. it sounds utterly mental but it wouldn't surprise me if Carr is involved in finding a replacement too. He appears to be trusted by those at the top. We're obviously looking at the continent, France in particular, for recruitment and therefore to sustain that position and to keep doing so then it would be in our interest to appoint a French/French-speaking manager providing he also speaks sufficient English to communicate with MA/DL and other players.
  8. I see the entire senior coaching staff as banter lads there for morale. Said this myself before but there's many on here who refuse to believe the "jobs for the boys" idea. The trouble with that is, and I'm not disagreeing, is that it's impossible to know one way or the other. We all used to say the same about Lee Clark, who subsequently has gone on to manage competently, if not fantastically, at League One/Championship level when a lot of posters on here thought that he was only fit for putting the cones out. Most clubs do source their coaches from either ex-players or local links, be it Mike Phelan, Steffen Freund, Steve Bould or Bolo Zenden. it's more that the ones we have don't seem to be addressing the areas they've been assigned. Krul's kicking and distribution is still awful, suggesting Woodman isn't doing his job. Tiote still charges around like a nutcase creating the impression Stone isn't working enough with him. As you say, it's impossible to know but the shifts put in by some individuals in games this season can't all be AP's fault alone.
  9. Why not? A young and hungry manager is exactly what we need, preferably someone with a point to prove. Hardly set the world alight at WBA. Fan favourite at Chelsea. Comes across as rather arrogant without any sustained period of successful management to back it up.
  10. Hilarious seeing Man Utd concede rather than score in added time for once.

  12. all makes for pleasant thinking, doesn't it? So we need a manager who's currently unemployed and more than likely who's preferred assistant, goalkeeping coach and first-team coach are also unemployed!
  13. I think we'd be just as bad. Carver is part of the coaching setup that has us playing so negatively. But was part of the set up that played so well under Sir Bobby. Might be the manager has the last say ? this is what I'm unsure about. Totally confused by it because I'd have thought he'd tell Pardew he's ballsing it all up. Maybe he doesn't see it either Or he does and Pardew takes no notice, bit like KK did with the defending side of things. Unsure myself but if Pardew does go then we will have new staff that come with the new manager. So it's a mute point really. aye. Was more just to do with the hypothetical scenario that we sack AP but don't get anyone in before Villa.
  14. What if Colo was convinced to stay by the news Pardew was gone? It's a distinct possibility in my mind. While Pardew is sat in the meeting "I can only afford to keep one of you on" etc.

  16. Reckon we'd be any different under Carver? If we told Pardew to fuck off and gave Carver/Stone the Villa game I'm wondering if we'd do much differently. Part of me thinks Carver wouldn't have us defending a lead or pissing about throwing on defensive players for attacking players. This is based on very little other than he probably learned the majority of his ideas under SBR.
  17. someone that doesn't fuck about with the formation 3 or 4 times per game.
  18. so we're purposely losing games to try and tell MA that our squad isn't big enough?
  19. do you know we measure speeds and distances in miles?
  20. he's taller than Anita. Let's just leave it at that.
  21. that advert for SSN deadline day, man. So cringeworthy.
