Sadly, I fully expect the same XI as last game, and it pisses me off.

"Peter came on and did a sterling job."

Well I can't see how he isn't starting now, which is amazing.

Sprained ankle according to physioroom. Expected return 16th Oct. Same as Vučkić, Smith and Ameobi.

I really can not wait to see Santon in action.

Better unleash Santon, and set up some bear traps on whichever side he's not at. -

He seems to fuck things up less than Simpson atm. -

That is our best XI. Sad/infuriating we won't see it anytime soon. -
There is bias on my part too but that's because I know what to expect from Jonas when he's in the team. With Marveaux, I have an idea on what to expect but dropping Jonas just like that is ill-advised. I never said to drop Jonas "like that". I said the moment will come naturally for Marveaux and the left side will be for him and I said why. After all, it's only my feeling based on what I saw from two players. There's no bias on my part. I'm sure Marveaux will be starting on the left wing at some point but I don't think Jonas can be dropped in the long term, let alone the short term. A simple solution would be to start Jonas on the right. Still think you underrate Jonas though. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc55/Sakura2811dev/Gifs%20and%20Tumblr%20pictures/SORCERY.gif

I agree changes to this team will probably only happen when we lose, it would take a brave manager to change a winning team. I think Spurs will be a step too far for one or two players who are currently holding down a first team place so Ben Arfa/Marveaux and Santon will be knocking on the door soon in any case. I'd start Santon against Spurs anyway, but you're right Pardoo will be conservative about changing a 'winning team'. If he doesn't change the team to introduce HBA there, i will by myself knock at his door http://www.freebetting.co.uk/images/alan-pardew-newcastle-united-manager.jpg Well, he looks quite elegant compared to some others Premier league coaches... http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01518/Steve_Bruce_1518861c.jpg Wow. That's beyond ugly. Pardew is miss Universe in comparison.

The international break - a moment to take stock

So would you drop either Ba or Best and put him straight in against Spurs? For me it's the perfect game but does one of them deserved to be dropped? Would drop Best, as Ba is the better player and he also deserves it based on the last two games. Best has impressed me lately though. -

What do people mean by "easing him into the side"? (based on a lot of comments here and nearly everywhere) I mean, his injury is FINALLY behind him, he is back to full fitness training wise, so the only thing he needs is match practice. Which he will gain from playing MATCHES. And when you have a player as good as Ben Arfa, you simply have to play him, especially when you're not Barcelona. I can understand the cameo in the Blackburn game. Fair enough. Also kind of understandable that he wasn't given game time against a physical Wolves side, but on the other side; what kind of excuse is that? He's not made of glass, and he's fit. Play him. If I were to define "easing him into the side" it would be exactly what is happening now, and so the easing bit is over and he is bound to start against Tottenham. Why Marveaux did not start on Saturday I can't explain, at all. I understand that you have to take into account that our side is unbeaten, but as said in other threads; it's better to get HBA into the side while we're on this excellent form, rather then do it after the inevitable defeat. Especially when thinking of better opposition, like Tottenham. Same obviously goes for Davide Santon, who has to replace either of the fullbacks. Yes, we're unbeaten, but that's not an excuse when looking at some of the individual performances. I believe in reason, not always what the table speaks. -
Wow. Bogdan is so s***.

-----------------------Krul Santon - S. Taylor - Colo - R. Taylor ----------------------Tiote ---------------Cabaye - Marveaux ----HBA----------------------------Jonas -------------------------Ba Dropping Obertan and Simpson is quite easy. And Ben Arfa has to play in this. -
