I agree. My concern is that Bruno is 28, and without European competition he may feel his time here is being wasted. There’ll be plenty of top clubs interested in him that can offer both trophies to compete for and European football.

The opening 20 minutes against West Ham last week were probably the best we’ve played all season, so I was convinced he’d stick with the same team and setup. I honestly couldn’t believe it when I saw the lineup and noticed Burn and Murphy had been shoehorned straight back in. If he keeps showing the same level of favouritism towards certain players, we could easily find ourselves in a relegation battle next season. Love Howe for everything he’s done but he just doesn’t have the ruthless streak in him that top managers have.

Loyalty is his weakness, forever trying to shoehorn Dan Burn in, which creates a disjointed team.

I’ve got to say, I’ve found Gordon really frustrating to watch during his time here, probably because he clearly has all the attributes to be a top player. His pace, work rate and ability are obvious, but around the box he’s been surprisingly ineffective in my opinion. The lack of goals and assists in the PL is nowhere near the level I expected after the 22/23 season.
