  1. Rafa's record in Merseyside derbies: P12 W8 D2 L2

    Steve McClaren

We're such dicks. But now we're dicks managed by Rafa Benitez.
  3. Can someone edit the magic Rafa gif to say Newcastle manager? That would make my day.
  4. It could always be worse I suppose... Sobering reading Villa's accounts: £27m loss, wages up £14m, CEO's pay up £990k, commercial revenue down, turnover down. Team rock bottom.

Would be hilarious if we offered him a coaching role and he accepted.
  6. So much anxiety right now.
  7. Doesn't he like a 4-2-3-1? In the short term it matters very little. Just needs to motivate these clowns.
  8. I'm kind of in shock. Keep telling myself this will go wrong.
  9. I always say that a manager should be judged by his league record because anyone can win a cup with the right draw and a couple of good performances. Benitez has proved himself extremely adept at getting to finals and winning trophies with his conservative style but less convinced by him over a league season. As for whether he can make a difference here within ten games, God knows. I don't think any manager can long term while Ashley remains. Agree on cups if it's a one-off. Roberto Martinez might be an example of that. However, when you make a habit of winning cup competitions surely it's more than a bit of luck. In a sense, our 10 games are a knockout competition. He might be perfect. And, if not, is clearly our best option. Which is why it's not going to happen.

Yeah Penn is genuinely ITK. His ITK reputation is now very much on the line then He's got a 100% record. He was first to break the news that Pardew had left. I'm tempted to have a huge bet.

What nonsense. When there are 10 games left and you're in 19th place, any change is a 'panic appointment.' Every minute that goes by shows just how woefully unprepared we are at all times.

:lol:You should post that on the Facebook page. I would but I feel like I'll be put on a watch list just for interacting with it.

So we've spent 72 hours discussing whether the former Real Madrid manager would be an upgrade for 19th placed Newcastle United and have now sent a carrier pigeon to Liverpool to see what he thinks.

Absolute scenes if we appoint Rafa. That Guardian article is fairly positive if you ignore the significant threat of relegation hanging over us or the fact that it's now mid-March. Not starting this process three weeks ago is the most ridiculous thing of all.

The silver lining if we were forced to keep McClaren is it might finally be the catalyst to unite a significant amount of the support behind an anti-Ashley movement. Losing a six-point derby would probably snap a lot of people out of the general malaise.

Only way McClaren is staying is if everyone we try to hire says no. Would be well deserved even though we'd be fucked.

    Steve McClaren

Or he'd keep us up and show Ashley what a proper manager could accomplish. It's the hope that kills.

Going to sleep with dreams of Benitez. Will wake up to the reality of Pearson (or worse, McClaren).

Does that fit with the Charnley/Moncur train pic? Would that take them to York?
  22. Him and Armstrong in the Championship could be quality. One potential silver lining.

    Alan Shearer

It's hard to imagine anyone remotely close to Shearer's quality ever playing for NUFC again. Depressing as fuck.
