  1. He comes on for 5 minutes at the end of every game man. Check out the bold bit. I haven't even checked if this is true. Don't care enough, but found it interesting.
  2. This was on Twitter a couple days ago so may have been posted. Not sure how much it means (haven't looked at who they played, etc.), but... Results in last 7 Carroll starts: WWDWDWW – Last 7 without: DDLLLLL

Probably going to give it to Lambert or Rogers. Can't decide if it's Newcastle bias that I feel he should get it over them. They've clearly done fantastic jobs at their clubs, and impressed everyone with their own ability in the process. But considering where everyone thought we were as a club, the quality of our squad, if we can stay 6th or higher I'd say he's well worth winning it. If we drop down to 7th I'd say it'd be open to more debate. They would never ever give it to the team finishing 6th, unless it was Swansea or Norwich doing it. It'll be Ferguson (holding off Mancini and all their millions) or Mancini (beating the old master etc etc). Not that anyone really cares about the award, but it would be a joke if one of them got it (especially Fergie). Too many other deserving managers this season.

  5. Excellent. The table looks glorious right now. Only negative is the injuries. Hopefully Colo was just a precaution and Cisse was cramping badly.
  6. When Shola comes on I think it needs to be for Ba (no Cisse). Looks exhausted.
  7. We look awesome on the counter. Should be more chances for that this half. Should have scored. Not sure why there was such a lack of excitement there from the commentators/crowd.
  8. Long and Odemwingie up front against Perch and Williamson scares me.
  9. Thought that was one of the better 45 min. from Williamson in awhile.
  10. Colo is just giving his hamstring time to regenerate. He'll be fine.
  11. The set piece play to Williamson has gone from annoying to comical back to really fucking annoying.
  12. This is a bunch of bullshit. "A footballing lesson we won't forget about anytime soon" - give me a break. You make it sound like Barca is coming to SJP.
  13. Really hope this isn't a Giggs...apologies if so.
  14. He wont leave Barcelona so he has to carry Argentina, which he wont, but he could at least try and make them a decent team. Not sure what I said to give you the impression I don't understand all those things. My comment to the bolded part probably should have included a as well. I think it's nearly impossible to compare players from different eras in any sport. It's always fun to debate and good points can be made on either side, but in the end everyone has their own opinion on what matters and what doesn't.
  15. First of all, well done for interpreting stuff to your own advantage. 2nd of all, World Cup is the biggest football tournament in the World, like it or not, just because your national team is f***ing s*** doesnt mean the rest of the World doest see it like that. With that said the Argentinian people wont consider Messi the best until he wins a World Cup. Also with comfort zone I dont mean leaving Barcelona, absolutely not, if you had read my post prior to the one you quotes I have said over and over again that Messi should stay at Barcelona for ever. However, he needs to produce at international level with Argentina. You cannot say you are the best ever if you cant make a team consisting of the best players in the World a top national side. Argentinas national team is quite embarassing and Messi inability to adapt to different systems is a large part to it. Also Di Stefano, Eusebio, Cruyff are not top three of all time because they never wonthe World Cup. Di Stefano won 4-5 straight Champions League titles yet never considered the best in his country (when will Messi do that?? ). Please understand where I am coming from. If you put Messi onto the pitch with Pele, Messi would be a much better player, but I try to view it from the perspective of who was the best with the resources they had? Pele was treated 10 times worse than Messi by opposition. (yellow card or subs didnt even exist back then and just watch footage of the 1966 World Cup and you will see what I am talking about) Pele was more dominant in his era than Messi is in his. Pele was more complete as a player. Pele stopped a war. (Nigerian Civil War) Pele won three World Cups. (although one was all due to Garrincha) Pele scored over 1000 -official- goals (many of those games are considered friendlies nowadays but wasnt the same back then if you read about past football history. I mean those -friendlies- came against top European sides who Pele refused to sign with and who he absolutely dominated.) Pele also managed to get sent off and put back on the field by the oppositions president as they told the referee to leave the arena for being unfair towards Pele for sending him off. (wont happen nowadays obviously, but just shows how big and important he was in his time) I love Messi, I always discuss how Neymar is from a different planet, but how Messi is from an even further one. So dont get me wrong, just dont get the wrong impression of Pele or Maradona for that matter. That settles it then. So? So? By the way, I have no idea which one is/was better as I never really saw Pele play so I'm not arguing one way or another. I do agree with those that recognize the diminishing importance of the World Cup (as far as individual accomplishments go). What Messi does on a weekly basis in a top-2 league in the world and in the CL is far more impressive to me.
  16. So true. This needs to be a gif.

No lie, I totally forgot he was still an NUFC player. What a complete waste.

    Alan Pardew

Pardew is no fool. He may have praised him in public in an attempt to smooth over any differences they had.
