  1. It would be wonderful if we could get the ball.
  2. They have barely had a sniff aside from long throws even with Tino and Tonali off it. Making it hard for them to score when they are bad at it to begin with is absolutely the right move. The problem is we add more pressure when we needlessly give them the ball back, especially down the right. And we’ve offered little threat because no one across the front three can make anything happen. Elanga can’t control a football and I think is scared of it coming to him, Gordon has given it away multiple times, and Nick is getting pushed around. He’s also incredibly slow to react - two times he was second to a loose ball that just has to be his. Quite sure that’s the difference between turgid / lifeless and tactical masterclass.
  3. Ah, didn’t know that didn’t count as a window.
  4. I’d say that generous. I’ll bump him from a 1 for the through ball. 2/10
  5. The Burn injury may cause Eddie to delay any more subs. Hopefully not - Elanga has to come off.
  6. This setup would be working much better if anyone on the front line could do anything.
  7. Elanga winning a throw is only the second helpful thing he’s done so far.
  8. Gordon should stay on. Wissa as early and possible and Elanga as soon as possible are the two changes that desperately need to happen.
  9. Jon Champion just said the FA cup was a “watered down version of the derby.” Why?
  10. Give him 15 more to not destroy his confidence and then Elanga needs to be hauled off.
  11. Elanga has to come off. I don’t care who it’s for.
  12. Wissa needs to get his fitness up ASAP.
  13. I don’t hate the plan but Tino looks off it, Elanga has been awful, and Nick is slow and lacking anticipation so we keep giving the ball away and can’t actually counter.
  14. 100% agree. 2022/23 we were fantastic defensively but there's absolutely zero chance we have that record if all our scorelines were 1-0 and 2-1. We regularly put the opposition to the sword and then the game is just over. We did it to USG and Everton. We were inches from it today.
  15. The problem is if he had taken Tonali off and we conceded you (or others) would be raging about taking off the engine of our team.
  16. Before everyone has a completely sane discussion in here I'd like to point out that since the last international break we've W3, D2, L1. The difference between beating Everton 4-1 and drawing tonight 2-2 is the Murphy or Thiaw chances going in. The goals we've conceded include our GK losing his mind in Marseille, letting a CB score a ridiculous slow motion bicycle kick, a brainless handball for a penalty, and a ball bouncing in off our captain's ass.
  17. Not for lack of trying. Inches away from a rout and a party.
  18. I thought with Ramsdale we'd lose a bit of shot stopping and improve the kicking with a bit less adventure. But Ramsdale is like Space Mountain on shrooms.
