If England wants to accomplish anything of note then neither can be in the team. For the time being I'm just happy to see Barry out.
-
mackems, Liverpool, Arsenal (more to do with their fans over here). Don't really mind Spurs that much and respect Man Utd/Ferguson. Hated Bolton with Fatso/Sammy/Megson, but don't mind them much anymore. Also hated WBA under Di Matteo - dirty bastards (and probably because they were our competitive rivals for two years). I don't hate Blackburn or Wigan, but want them to go down and disappear for awhile.

I think the focus is more on the England internationals. A player like Santon can live in relative obscurity in Newcastle, especially since he hasn't done anything in the PL yet. In Italy he was hailed as the next Maldini. I can't even imagine the amount of attention he must have gotten.

Yes, but would you want to see us have a great season only to ineligible for Europe?
-
Drives me nuts. I'm not even sure if it's for British Premier League because Swansea is in or if the Premier League said it needs to be BPL for Barclays. Either way it is infuriating.
-
I really enjoy listening to him. It's nice knowing he'll always be fair about us and he usually has good knowledge of what's going on with the club.
-
According to Fox Soccer Channel, Davide Stanton just came on.
-
I'm quickly turning on Danny Simpson.
-
Huh? Talent on the bench - HBA/Marveaux.
-
It's quite remarkable how Jonas acquires end product when there is talent behind him.
-
If he brings on Shola or Lovenkrands I'm going to lose it.
-
The last thing I expected to see when I opened this thread was a picture of Rick Majerus. Cracking me up.

Nope, that's more in line with what Liverpool want. That would give the top clubs 38 games of big money, while someone like Wigan would only get big money when they played one of the top clubs. Their matches against Wolves, Swansea, etc. would garner a far lower rights fee. The league is worth more as a whole. While the Manchesters, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool may be the big draws, the league doesn't function without the other 15 clubs. Everyone understands this except those scummy bastards. I wish Hicks & Gillette had hung on for another year and really run that club into the ground.
-
Really happy that Liverpool are going to be left out on their own looking like cocks in this.
-
Not surprised. Henry has seen what having your own network can do. This wouldn't be exactly the same model, but it's certainly a way to maximize revenue. No way this gets enough votes to pass. I like this.
-
Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere, but this is a very interesting quote to me. Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but it makes it sound like maybe things weren't as rosy as everyone thought last season.
-
Maybe we're giving him the same wages, but only a 3-year extension instead of our seemingly mandatory five. That would probably be ideal anyway.
-
It would be just our luck to hire a manager that everyone laughed at only for him to have us push on like we never thought possible given the circumstances and then have him taken away by England. Won't happen, but would be typical. Agree with this.

By whom?

We need Santon, Ben Arfa, and Marveaux to be involved against Spurs. Obertan for either Ben Arfa or Marveaux was such an obvious change that needed to be made. The other should have come on instead of Lovenkrands and I have no idea what Guthrie offers over Cabaye even if he has been running his balls off for 85 minutes. We are nine points clear of the mackems.
-
Serious questions need to be asked of Pardew's subs and second half tactics, but another 3 points (and +2 in Pip's thread). Fucking 3rd.
-
I really don't understand what Pardew is doing.
-
Walking now. Can't be that bad. I'd take him off for Barfa just to be cautious.
-
We are living very dangerously.
-
That is really fucking funny.
