  1. Also don't get this whole desire to remove some particular songs sung by our lot. Everyone laps up the massive songbook of Man United and Liverpool as they sing about their history yet us singing about the PLs greatest every striker turning down the PLs greatest ever club for love and loyalty is cringe? Give owa. If anything it's exactly what epitomises us and probably will no longer if we continue on this trajectory. Local fans (and some non local) of a local club who understand that once you pick Newcastle, you've picked Newcastle. Not just supported the best, easiest team to follow. People laugh when we sing about our old players because apparently it's living in the past - what a load of shite. Our history is what's made us what we are. We absolutely should celebrate it and not sing the same standard bullshit every other set of fans sing with the exclusion of changing team names. I really don't get this whole desire to be cool to be honest, just have fun, back your team, who gives a fuck. Hey ho, rant over.
  2. Wor Flags want to develop a culture whereby people take their own scarves and flags and demonstrate their own version of support. So long as it's inoffensive, it's not an issue to me - personally. I might find them shite or cringe but not everyone can be a designer, not everyone can afford new flags, whatever. That Big Sam's Black and White Army was painted on my drive and looked utter shite but was some late teens with 0 experience, money or expertise trying to make a difference. What matters to me is that we're 100% louder and 100% more visual on the 3 hours or so whilst the game takes place, that we're the cliché 12th man. Whether that be face paints, smoke bombs, cringe flags or belter surfers, if we do our bit on the day I don't give a shit. The players will absolutely be doing theirs, so we MUST do ours.
  3. Aye, it's probably not the purpose of the thread TBF. Hard to focus on the subject matter though when these feelings are ignored (even when constructively addressed).
  4. He absolutely was one of the founders of Gallowgate Flags. He was also one of two 'founding' members who didn't like the new direction that was being taken and thus refused us further use of 'their' Gallowgate Flag name/brand. What he and another brought, undoubtedly assisted in what has now become Wor Flags, but once the True Faith surfer and a few other opinions were aired by so called socialist folk, then it fast transpired that what was the existing direction wasn't the direction the group wished to take. Interestingly, if this is still used in his bio, it's been 6 years almost since he was involved. Very, very few of the group publicise their involvement via bios etc. Because we don't perceive it to be important. Inevitably, as the groups exposure has grown and is the fuel which we so rely upon, then anonymity has been difficult to maintain, and whilst it might not be forbidden, very few of us list this in our bios. Our intention is to reflect what we believe to be fans' and our own collective opinion, not to represent the fanbase. Semantics?..maybe. There's a slight difference for me though and hopefully we strike the fine line that doesn't make us seem like one of the characters many frown upon within our fanbase. Anyhoo...I digress...

They're reet sad fuckers this lot like. So glad Mitro rubbed it in.
  6. Aye I kna. Comes across like they're talking at you rather than to you.
  7. I know, but having rationale is boring.
  8. Persistence is key and singing it at quiet times. Instead of "Toon" I actually chant "New-Cas-tle" between Uniteds too. Toon United doesn't really make all that much sense and it's a modern thing. Bizarre tbh. The 3 claps match the syllables of New Cas Tle.
  9. Wor Geordies Lost His Liggy is the one I kna without yet clicking the link. Got it on a CD
  10. The one from the Irish club? Absolutely lush that. Best version I've ever heard. Proper hearty stuff.
  11. Yous are making Toon Ultras sound right seedy like it was actually a group of kids...
  12. There seems to be a few TU veterans on here like. Never realised yous were all lurking in the shadows
  13. Aye, there was. It was by and large a good group if people, just too young to be effective and one or two bad apples.
  14. I'll try to keep mentioning it to certain folk in the group mate and hopefully they can make a breakthrough with their contacts.
  15. Was he actually done for sumit like? I know of another who defo was done for it but it wasn't him.
  16. Yep, everyone thought we were charvas, and bairns and hooligans and all this shit. Was more like a junior Wor Flags tbh.
