It's a bitter pill for me to swallow and it could have been more bitter for me (and more difficult for me to swallow), but with this Ashley debacle I've lost all my 80 or so loyalty points, but at the age of 33, I have been a match going fan for 26 years of my life and a season ticket holder for 19 years. Now I'm the same as a mate of mine who's maybe been to 30 games in total and only just got a season ticket... It's shite.

Because attending games home or away is a form of loyalty, and financially for the club, he has probably given more. Likewise he'd have attended more games, historically. If points were weighted as above they'd likely have more than him anyway through accumulation of season tickets, cup tickets and away tickets anyway. Just means he's higher up the pecking order than someone who's turned up now we're good. Also, my proposal means people like myself who boycotted under Ashkey wouldn't lose approximately 80 loyalty points for standing up for their club, or if people couldn't afford it for a few years owing to personal circumstances, etc. What we're saying is you're only loyal if you've been going recently, which isn't right to me.

On ticketing - I don't think any way was gonna please everyone. My suggestion at the fan engagement meeting was that tickets and loyalty points should be weighted, as an example; Season tickets: 5 Away tickets: 3 Cup tickets: 2 Friendlies: 1 Not necessarily this but as an example. That way, those who have followed Newcastle for years as season ticket holders have a good opportunity of attending finals and big away games. Rightly so in my opinion, they're attending the most games and giving the largest financial outlay to the club. Obviously, those with a lot of loyalty points from away games would also have season tickets and thus they'd remain top priority, again, rightly so. This then gives opportunity to members to develop points and the opportunity to achieve higher category tickets should the opportunity arise. This particular instance has been poorly communicated (as always with regards to NUFC and tickets). Any prioritisation on the basis of cup tickets should have been advised at the start of the season. As we're seeing now it's a kick in the teeth for season ticket holders who've spent 600 quid and up and been pipped to the post by someone who has spent 20 quid. Aside from money, that's 19 games to 1. I also think loyalty points should be retained for individuals. Not that it matters, but how is it fair that someone who has been 'loyal' for one season has more opportunity than say my Dad who's been to probably around 30/40 away games and been a season ticket holder for decades but wouldn't now be on a Wigan trip or similar ?? you're only loyal if you're currently going, that's shite too in my opinion

They are, aye. That's all I'll say for now and would prefer the above not to be shared too much -
For me. He'll go nowhere bigger and better than here, so whilst you may be correct he needs to learn if he wants to meet his own potential

Aye, from what I've been shown a quick search on cup finals and displays suggests almost any club with a PL or solid financial footing do their own displays. In fact, I'd argue that ours is still unique in that 3 of the 4 elements are fan led... -

It's normal for clubs to fund the final like. Would hazard a guess every single club who's been to Wembley has funded any form of sizeable display that's actually gone ahead... -

I agree with TheGuv on this one like. Sports Direct font... -
I don't believe it is. It gives a different option/more depth in replacement for a different option/more depth in another, and now we're looking towards getting wins not avoiding defeats

How isn't he? Squad places need to be made available and we need to abide by FFP. We've removed probably one of the highest earners for least quality players and have also cashed in on someone who wasn't good enough but did us an immediate job to save us from relegation. I think people are re-imagining Shelvey personally. Good servant for the club across the years but wasn't fit half the time, lacked athleticism and sometimes simply had a lazy attitude. Why would Wood be included and not Shelvey, to your point? We've brought in a more creative option to unlock teams, someone whom we can rely upon for our high press and stay fit. We've had a suspension for Bruno (shit happens) and players are running tired at present but I also believe Howe isn't willing to jeopardise our cup match for a win away at Bournemouth. He's protecting players in what will be huge for them, as well as us. We could go all Chelsea and buy every fucker but in all honesty, I don't see how that'd work. It won't work for Chelsea (this season, and perhaps even next) either. Slow and steady wins the race. Anthony Gordon coming in has improved our first team propositions and ultimately our squad, and is transformative in that we're clearly confident in our ability to control games and hold teams and now are progressing into attacking and going after 3 points. It'll all happen in time, I just feel people aren't giving it that.

Would you rather have Anthony Gordon or Shelvey and Wood at this stage?

We need to have more options to break down teams when they shut up shop. It's only a year in to the project that Eddie Howe signed up to and we're about 5 places beyond where we hoped we'd be. We're evidently trying to play by FFP, we've only had 3 windows to unpick and rebuild and we've still only lost one game all season. No one is above criticism but fuck me...the effort is there and has been applied by almost all the playing squad. We don't demand a team that wins... Or do we? 'kin hell...
