  1. I know little about finances and like you I am more bothered about the football, but ultimately they come hand in hand to a degree. I would have thought though, by protecting your assets and adding to them, you would generate a higher level of income through higher league finishes. Then you could try and consolidate your position at a higher level, for example in Europe. Instead we have raised to a level then chose not to maintain it, and now risk going backwards to the point we could be relegated. Not that I think we will like, but it's f***ing stupid.
  2. ...or maybe we could just have a balanced midfield with a ball-winner and a playmaker like most decent sides...lads?

Nar, that's new to me like...but fair enough. I've not said at any point he is our best striker fwiw, I have merely stated that he has as much right to stake his claim as our centre forward at present as Cisse.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

As much as I like Hatem, this is the "Anti-Ameobi" of threads like. (Just hoying it out there).

No different from what Cisse is doing at present...except, Sholas actually scoring... True but Cisse hasn't been doing it for ten years. To want Shola to start on Saturday is mental imo. Fair enough, that's your opinion...but to me Shola is at least giving something at present, and whilst he may not be as talented as Cisse, he at least has the professionalism and physical presence for people to look to as a leader at the club and on the pitch. People like Ben Arfa can at least feed off him, he might be s**** but he never goes missing. Anyways, each to their own. You say at the moment, he was truly awful against Wham, played ok for 20 minutes against Morecambe. Now what's he going to be like against Fulham. He's just rubbish at the top level. I wouldn't start him in the Premiership, ever. Who's to say dropping Cisse for a game and starting Shola wouldn't give Cisse the needed kick up the arse though? Not necessarily saying we should do that like... I appreciate form is temporary and class is permanent, but at present there's no class and only Shola with any type of 'form'. True and it does show how badly we are up front for numbers. Gomis in and up front it is then Aye.

There are only 13 years of evidence to suggest that Shola will settle back to the utter s*** level that he is. The fact that we are even having this nightmarish conversation highlights how dire our striking options are. Our striking options are dire, I don't disagree. The fact i'm the minority doesn't make me wrong though - that's just stupid to suggest.

...I bet you change your tune when he scores past S*nderland. He might not be great, but we have fuck all else atm, and he actually has some sort of semblance of good form not like our superstar striker Cisse who refused to play with Wonga on his strip and fucked us about for more money.

Gutted our top scorer for the (pre) season scored? Makes sense. What exactly has Cisse done thus far this season?
  14. :huff: Definitely not. What a stupid thing to say.
  15. People just hate the Super Ameobi Brothers to follow the crowd / for the crack like I'm sure. At least we know they wont just fuck off when the going gets tough. It's not their fault they're mediocre, they do try.
  16. At least it made it evident we require more players tonight. Not that I think it will matter a toss. Shola was exactly what we needed when he came on and Sammy was our MOTM. We were still bloody lucky in spells though. Several players had fucking nightmares tonight.

    Curtis Good

Can I pinch this, Heza? Best ask about 30 others, we've all used that at some time tonight It's Good to share. No need for you to get all central defensive.

    Curtis Good

Was probably the better of our two centre halves tonight. Good was very Good. Just needs a more confident centre half along side him to bring him along. Which normally Mbiwa would be. Yanga was in weird form tonight...
  19. Heron

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Created that bit of composure and class throughout the team with his shear influence. Still frustrated me at times but it's inevitable with a player of this type.
  20. Was utter shite tonight, which is unlike him. I actually rate the lad.
  21. Heron

    Sammy Ameobi

    MOTM for us tonight.
  22. Heron

    Shola Ameobi

Changed the game tonight like, fo Sho.
