Aye, but he looks like he could make over half a billion pounds from the sports direct 'mistake', this can only be causing a drastic decrease in the value of Newcastle United as an asset...
  2. Hoping they go really leftfield now and get Bilic. He could be our Mourinho.
  3. Why do you keep assuming only the fans have heard of everyone and MA & CM does not have a clue? MA hs more at stake than any of us and I'm sure he can afford to buy Football Manager too Purely judging them on their actions...

Really, there's nowt else they could say. Think i'd rather they stayed silent... It's not like that's quelled anyone's fears! Would have been at OT today if my lift hadn't fell through, would love to gauge the atmosphere of the toon fans down there... No doubt SSN / Setanta will get the most inbred to give some pointless fecking soundbite that won't reflect the general feeling

I was wrong. They ARE going to try and bullshit their way out of it. Did they keep Freddy on in a secret advisory role?! This has Shepherd written all over it!
  6. Has anyone mentioned Sanchez Flores? I'm guessing there is no way Mort or Ashley would have a clue who he is... I suppose the only person they'll give money to is someone they trust which means someone they've heard of... Gutted
  7. I don't know if it's already been mentioned but i just cannot believe this has become such public knowledge as well. Even in the past there have been strong rumours managers were coming but to actually have him come in front of the cameras and turn it down, that is really damaging - there is no way the board can bullshit their way around the new manager not being first choice. All this coming from Redknapp that he was offered another 'huge' role and turned it down and we're still guessing whether it was Man City or Spurs, whilst with us we've seen the guy stand there and tell the whole world he's turned us down. I for one am really worried about who we're going to end up with.
  8. Anyone watching Sky Sports 1 now? How depressing
  9. Just had him on SSN saying he'd been offered it. Fucks sake, what's wrong with the club?! Can't believe we've done this AGAIN!
  10. Sorry, you were right. I was wrong. There are no actual quotes saying he was offered other than SSN no? And James, don't apologise mate, no one can call which way SSN will sway and that seems to be what rules all...
  11. Anyone else think that this whole thing is one big lie and redknapp was never approached?!
  12. hahahaha.... 30-1 now, i think this whole thing has been ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS! i don't think there has been any approach, anything, what a fucking joke!
  13. Talksport have been discussing it for 10 mins too... It's my sadness at having barely slept with SSN and betfair on in the background... I'm doing 50 days without drinking so gambling has become my new addiction!
  14. Not being patronising, but I think you are fairly new here and havent sat through this forum during other periods of management change. Having watched the last three appointments, I have observed people reacting to changes of bookmakers odds, and after a while, you realise that these changes mean absolutely nothing. Nope, not patronising at all, just trying to get my head round it all, normally follow management changes via tv / websites but rarely on forums. To be honest, my main obsession with the gambling sites at the moment is a strong belief that if you react to breaking news you can make a lot of money. Having sat and watched Betfair basically solidly for the last 3 days i am learning a lot about how the market works and i have been doing similar for other clubs, albeit with less interest as i don't follow them. Whilst tipping someone to take the job is always conjecture and will often be wrong, when odds fly away from someone more often than not that means that there is something in it. I understand your scepticism and maybe you can educate me by telling me all the managers that have come following their odd flying out when they were previously favourites. That's a genuine question, i'm here to learn as much as i can to be honest!
  15. Bookmakers are indeed speculation, but what speculation are they reacting to? There is nothing on talksport or skysports (i'm sad enough to have both on!) and all articles are pointing towards Redknapp joining, so the flow of money away from Redknapp can only be linked to some kind of inside info... remember betfair isn't your standard bookmaker, it's private people betting against each other. He is on top of the list but his odds are longer. As i speak Redknapp: 5.2 Shearer: 5.1 Hughes: 4.3
  16. Redknapp is out of it, he has gone to 3rd fave on betfair behind Shearer and Hughes, something has happened, dunno what but i'm going to put my neck on the line here and say he's told someone he's not going, the money has just poured out of him. Not sure who it'll be but i'm going to say now, i don't think it will be redknapp - check betfair.com
  17. Odds on Redknapp on Betfair have just gone out miles, he is now way longer than evenings, Hughes has come in from 20s to 6s - does anyone know what's happened?!
  18. I just feel if nothing is done by tonight there is a chance things will change. I'm gutted the game is not at our place as the fans would have a chance to make a real statement about who they want / do not want. If we had 52k fans singing for Mourinho / Shearer / Van Gaal(!) then Ashley / Mort would realise that Redknapp would not 'blow' anyone's fecking socks off and would not be a good choice. As it is i'm hoping a) those down at OT make enough noise that the TV picks it up for Ashley to see or b) ashley is back for the game. After all, we heard right up until the Stoke game that Ashley was on hols yet he made it back - if he wants to be there he will be and i'd have thought Man Utd away would have him rushing to be back
  19. PS - that's from SSN, so not sure whether it's true, but they are very reluctant to play the story down as they have been championing it all week, so i think it's likely to be true
  20. Redknapp is at the Portsmouth training ground, bringing them up for the game, it's looking a lot less likely if that's the case
  21. Yeah, that's true enough. I don't care where someone's from to be honest, as long as they've got the club's best interests at heart and do a good job i'll be happy (i think that position may change if some mackem rocks up in charge)
  22. Bollocks to that - it goes back too long just to stop as soon as Redknapp comes in. It also doesn't help that he basically embodies most negative cockney stereotypes. Don't get me wrong, through work i have become one of the oft-slated 'london mags' and so i have a lot of friends born and raised here, however even they look at the term 'cockney' as referring to a dodgy east end geeza, the likes of which you'd see in Eastenders. And let's be honest, who couldn't see Redknapp running that car lot, he basically is Frank Butcher.
  23. Kemsley is a lot lot more experienced than Ashley and Mort when it comes to football. His advice could especially be appreciated when Ashley is out of the country. I'm pretty sure Ashley's presence in the country is irrelevant - he wouldn't have flown out if he thought leaving would be detrimental / leave him relying on others - it would make no sense. He chose to fire Allardyce when he did. Kemsley is more experienced you're right, but experience doesn't necessarily make you a better judge - and here we are in the same argument as to what makes a good manager! I would rather Ashley and Mort made their own decision - yes, they might not have been in football long but they've been long enough to make a decision as ruthless as to kick allardyce out when they have, so they should now make their own decision on the replacement. I do trust them, but worry that listening to Ashley's mate could cloud Ashley's judgment. He would hate it as much as us if in a year's time we're stuck with a huge bill paying off Redknapp for failing when it wasn't his gut decision but that of his mate's and he just went along with it as he thought he knew best. Randy Lerner was totally new to football and this country and he still had the nous to get O'Neill in, I don't buy into Ashley / Mort not knowing enough about what they're doing and having to turn to others for help.
  24. I'm not claiming it's up to me, i just don't like him being involved. If Ashley is as savvy as we all (myself included) keep giving him credit for then he'll hopefully be more sensible than to just trust everything Kelmsley tells him and make sure he does his own research. And agreed, this is on the proviso it's all true, i am being sucked in to sky sports following 7 solid hours...
  25. more piece of bullshit, no quotes, there's nothing at all to back their claims, the same 1's that we're said earlier it's fairly good knowledge he was in london with family and friends tonight as well Although the driver of the car in that photo does look like Kemsley. thts the photo of him being driven away by storrie earlier That isn't Storrie. It was him being driven away from training though, i think the press may have spotted that and made slightly more of it had it been Kelmsley / an agent. Why the f*** is this spud suddenly deciding our future anyway? I don't like it at all, i don't care if him and Ashley are mates, i want him out the picture. Interesting that the back of tomo's papers are a lot more ifs/buts than yesterdays blanket 'he's definitely going' Kemsley is an ex-Spud. Yes, supposedly so he can go to the US and start his property investment business... Why is he still here? Getting involved in our business? He supposedly didn't have time to work for Spurs so quit, now he's commenting on us and people are saying he's helping negotiate for our manager. Not particularly keen on it to be honest, no matter how good a mates him and Ashley are. It's like Sam Allardyce inviting Sammy Lee down to pick our team straight after Lee had left Bolton... Probably would have been better, mind
