  1. Again we come back to Bruce's tactical naivety.  Longstaff, under Rafa, most likely had a well defined role: break up play, lay the ball off quickly, keep the ball moving in the buildup and hover outside the opponents box in possession.  Bruce probably just told him to sit deeper and clear the ball.  When everyone is sitting deep, who do you pass the ball to?  There was no spacing.  Some players were thinking "Should I break forward?  Nah, maybe I should sit back."

We were an absolute mess.  I can't honestly evaluate any player's performance under the shit show produced by that fat, tub o' lard.

What was most impressive about today, is that we changed shape and dropped three of our best players of late and still looked really comfortable.

I think it says it all about Eddie: dropped key players for rest and changed formation and still the players were well drilled and executed.

Can't fault him really, he's played well in that role as much as he's physically capable, might even have earned himself a contract extension as a squad player. I still think he's fighting Bruno for that spot in midfield though, and I don't think he'll win that fight beyond this season.

As much as I'm surprised by his phoenix  like rebirth I agree.  Assuming a 3 man MF I don't think there is anything Shelvey can do that Bruno won't do better.

A tough afternoon for the lad. He didn't really offer what we've seen in the previous games and looked a yard off and easily frustrated. He still did his running so I commend him for that.

We have a nice ensemble of players. There's always someone to step up when needed.

  5. Perhaps it's best if he just fades away into history as a guy that managed over 1000 games and was a good bloke.  We know what he did here.  Amanda laid it out pretty clearly.  He's driving WBA down and when he leaves hopefully he'll never get another job and we'll never have to hear his godawful name again, the cunt.

Coverage in America of the PL has slowly gotten so bad, with this move to Peacock and then cable coverage moving to USA Network (and closing down of NBCSports) being such a huge nail in the coffin.

Three fixtures today and not one on cable. No pre-show, nothing. We used to be able to brag because every match was on live (without having to have a Peacock subscription).

Can't wait for YouTube or Amazon or whoever it was that won the bid to take over.

I have Peacock so its not to bad for me but yeah, I remember when NBC showed every EPL game a few years ago.  Of course, that was only a hook for the NBCSN subscription service which failed miserably.  Do you have ESPN+?  Thats been coming on strong with Bundesliga and FA cup coverage.
