the 92 thing is a myth, we were most likely in fact im certain we were in a similar place in the 'crowd league' ( mackem term)in the 70s and 80s, round about 3-4th best supported, even when in a lower division, this takes into account that crowds have risen across the board since the taylor report/ stadium developments We had plenty of lockouts in them days at a 36k capacity, as we did post92- but before the stadium was extended to 52k- again hinting that that 52k were there anyway but couldnt get in. I think Sima proved on rtg, that they have attracted more additional fans post 97-sol, than we have post 92. 92rs has no basis in fact.

Most of them do at some point. It tends to be teams who aren't doing as well as their fans expected. Liverpool are the classic example, although Arsenal have been doing it a lot. It also tends to be teams with local rivals, so Arsenal will put out a combined North London team. I feel like I've seen a lot of combined Liverpool-Spurs teams over the last four or five years though. its pointless drivel tbh.

Beardsley. their keeper had a blinder as well. Alex Williams! Remember expecting to lose this one before kick off ... aye, they came up here looking strong, filled the leazes end, and got murdered, even by 5-0 standards this was an almighty hiding.

Kenny Wharton and David Mills...oh the memories - 'twas bonfire night if I remember correctly. One of my early games in the Scoreboard having graduated from the benches! My first game? The previous August, first home game of the Season vs Shrewsbury: lost 1-0 at home: Mills had a stinker, but christ I was hooked... I clearly remember looking at the Gallowate and thinking 'that's for me' !!! that was such a shitter that game edit- it was 83/84 btw lads. 82-83 we got mauled at home 4-1 iirc by fulham.

remember our old man hoying you in the air at the winner- in the west stand paddock. My first game was a pre season friendly against benfica and the great Eusebio, the official opening of the east stand- remember being proper scared by the height. cant remember the year- round about 73ish. Supermac once told me Eusabio was simply untouchable in the game. I have slight memories of being taken to Joker park in the 70s as a kid- but my first proper away trip with mates and that was Carlisle nyd '84 3-1 loss on the way to promotion. Never seen out like it, goals used to be celebrated back in those days. remember one fat guy lying on his back in a star shape on the terraces just screaming

I like him but moan like fuck at him at times, feels like his A game is an A but his B game is a Z.
-
i think you are/were did it a few times in the championship season. not certain to go or who will want to go until tommorrow- so cash is so much easier.

yep- felt he would get his move in the summer- unforseeable tho and he can at least hold his head up he didnt run away like he was going to. Not sure about holding his head up, if he did run away he would no doubt have to pay us a hell of a lot of money. At the moment it feels like he/his father/that club are all going to win out of this even if they had to wait half a season. well maybe- but it was a genuine injury tho? not just fucking offski
